Family Fun

Our family of 12 (ages ranging 1-40) had a wonderful time here. The outdoor pool and entertaining area was plenty large, and the beach access was just a few steps outside the privacy fence. One review mentioned difficulty accessing the beach, but that was not the case. Anyone who can move around on sand can walk the few steps down to the beach. The house is very spacious. The location was approximately 25 minutes from San Juan and from Luquillo area where a lot of the popular things to do are located.

Lots of Space; Beautiful Beach

Casa Del Mar is very impressive. A huge living room and a huge dining room. Seven bedrooms all with king or queen size beds. If I counted right, 7 bathrooms! The set up is what makes it unique and insures some great together time with space for smaller groups and privacy. The pool and outside space have the same opportunities for large and small get togethers. The beach is great for swimming and building sand castles. All 14 members of our family with ages from 6 to 74 had a great time. I highly recommend it.

Perfect holiday

Beautiful house with a pristine location to the beach. We had unexpected kitties to make our stay complete- yes we bought food for them. Great local restaurant steps away from the house on the beach. Small convenience store at the end of the block to get ice and drinks. Would highly recommend this house to others.

Family vacation

The property is perfect for a large group- we were 10, plenty of space to be together or have some alone time. The beach it is located on is lovely and its safe to swim. Unfortunately, the neighborhood is rough, if you are a walker this is not the property for you. We had an issue with an AC in one of the master suites, it was so loud we could not use it. The kitchen was lacking in some basic supplies ( colander, plastic glasses for around the pool etc). You definitely need a car, if you are looking for night life look elsewhere, if you want a relaxing experience, cooking in and hanging out on the beach this could be perfect.

Great House for a big gang

The house is great, plenty of space for 3 generations to spread out and get some privacy when needed! Beachfront was so perfect for everyone. While other reviews criticized the loud neighborhood, we didn't find it particularly bad...the locals waved and smiled at us when we drove through. It isn't a neighborhood to walk though since it doesn't really go anywhere but we spent our time enjoying the house, property, beach and then driving to El Yunque, Old San Juan, and other sites. Once on property we were happy to veg out!

Perfect for Larger Groups

We had a great stay at Casa Del Mar with four generations under one roof. The house is even better than the pictures show. We had plenty of space for privacy with a big group but also plenty of room to gather together to dine together and socialize both outdoors and indoors. The layout was perfect. The neighborhood leading to the property is pretty shabby so we were a little nervous/shocked driving in to the area. Overall we felt safe inside and driving in and out but would not spend any time outside the gated areas outside of a car.

Great for Large Family Gathering

A very impressive and comfortable house, ideal for a large group. It's right next to a beautiful beach with amazing swimming, sparkling sand for sunbathing and playing, and palm-shaded spots for the shade-lovers. There was plenty of space and privacy for our group of 6 adults/3 kids. The kids loved the pool. There was ample seating indoors and out for groups large and small. Any question we had Jacob was quick to answer. When we noted the grill wasn't working well, he brought over a new grill the next day! Those who needed to check in with their offices found the wifi was decent too. It's also a convenient location to visit El Yunque and other scenic spots (rent a car). This isn't the wilderness, it's in a mixed neighborhood and there can be noise, fireworks, etc., all part of the scene. Everyone we met was friendly. A great getaway, we're already planning our next visit!!

Great host

Host are great! Communication is amazing. Jacob and Charles are wonderful. Only thing is while we had transportation for the weekend. Just FYI Uber is not an option. Rent a car, or arrange transportation.

Amazing property

The property is amazing. Plenty of room for the entire family. The house was very comfortable, spacious inside and outside. Sunsets were breathtaking. Great location and not too far from the San Juan airport. A few observations. Our family was not greeted by a host. We received the property's gate code via text. An assortment of keys were left on the living room table and we had to figure out which key locked/unlocked each door. The property did not have a guest planner listing the properties amenities, local eateries, stores, upcoming events/holidays etc. We had to figure things out on our own. Luckily our family is pretty savvy and we worked through these minor issues easily. Overall the property was beyond our expectations.

Spring Break in PR

Fantastic property right on the beach. Charlie is a great VRBO host while Jacob is a phenomenal property manager (quick to respond to our every question) & Sergio set up all of our adventures (boat rental and rainforest adventure). In a remote town so you definitely need a car as restaurants / shopping is 15 minutes away. Excellent vacation!!

Highly disappointed

This trip was intended to be a family get together with multiple siblings coming from a variety of US states. Unfortunately Puerto Rico‘s policies regarding Covid changed from the time of booking to the time of travel. Several months in advance up to the week prior we contacted the host in hopes of changing dates or working out some type of refund if the property was able to get re-rented. Unfortunately the host was slow to respond, refused any sort of refund, and unwilling to work with us on possible solutions. Despite also purchasing travel insurance my siblings and I were out over ten Grand for a vacation we didn’t even get to enjoy

Great place for a family vacataion

This was our first trip to PR and this house was perfect for our 8 adults and 3 children. The pool on property was a hit with the kids - just a head's up it is not heated which actually makes it cooler than the ocean at this time of year (February). The beach was right out the back porch as well. I'm not sure if it's typical in PR or not, but we dealt with tiny ants and fruit flies in the kitchen, but got used to them - this may very well be a part of island life! The house was spacious. Every room was equipped with a TV and sound machine. The kitchen was small but functional. The outdoor space were awesome - a big patio for sunbathing, a covered side patio, and 2 outdoor showers. Due to COVID and having small children, we wanted to have a special dinner and loved the idea of a private chef recommended by the homeowner. But because of a few sub-par reviews I read for the recommended chef, I opted for another chef - In House Chef - which was PHENOMENAL. Highly recommend - we ate outside at the covered pergola and table for 8. Truly a special night with amazing food, service, and detail. And the guys cleaned the kitchen spotless when they were done! I also did NOT opt for the guided tours to El Yunque, and recommend the same for anyone else. This is totally unnecessary and a waste of money (~$90 per person, if I recall). Navigating to El Yunque from the house was a breeze, and the trails were not complicated. I don't understand why anyone would need a tour. We are all different age groups (grandparents to a 3 year old who hiked himself on foot), and had no issues whatsoever - it would be impossible to get lost, and you will certainly find your way to all the wonderful waterfalls natural pools, and landmark sites without any difficulty. All in all, a great trip and a perfect house for a large group, especially with kids! Definitely recommend!

Family Christmas vacation

We had such a great time staying at Casa Del Mar. The layout of the house was perfect for our big group, offering gathering space for all and also plenty of room for privacy. The house is well appointed and the location on the beach was so nice and easy to access. A generous amount of towels was provided. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking meals. Pool was a bit chilly but that didn’t stop the kids from enjoying it every day! Not many restaurants were open nearby but that may have been due to the holiday week, or Covid impact, so we cooked or grilled at the house every night. We had so much fun! We hope to return.

This place is like a paradise. So Beautiful.

The property was so perfect. If you really wanted to, you can just stay at the property its like its own paradise. My family and I had such a good time. Property is like 30 minutes from San Juan. I would recommend this property and would book again.

Vista expectacular

Casa muy completa, muchos cuartos y baños. Nuestro grupo era de 7 adultos y una niña de 4, entre los adultos una de 90 y la habitacion en el primer piso fue ideal porque no tenia que subir y bajar escaleras y estaba bien comoda. Areas de estar y varias terrazas. Varios televisores Comedor muy agradable y grande. La cocina esta sin terminar y le faltan cosas que a lo mejor ya estan alli. Como hielera, ice maker, abridor de vinos, copas, utencilios para el BBQ. Esta frente al mar, vistas preciosas y aterdeceres bellos.
