Adjacent is the beautiful S.W. Coastal Path to Bolt Head, and the sub-tropical gardens at Overbecks, both owned by the National Trust. South Sands beach, popular for watersports, is within a quarter of a mile, and the town centre is approx 2 miles via the picturesque cliff and coast road. Also, a regular passenger ferry service runs from South Sands to the town centre during the summer.
