Family holiday late October 2024

We had a wonderful family holiday at Finca Craig. One week towards the end of October 2024. 6 adults and children aged 7 and 4 years old and an infant 5 months. The house has great accommodation with a very well equipped kitchen. With the mixed ages having 2 bedrooms downstairs and 3 upstairs was ideal. Also a good sized heated swimming pool was perfect in the changeable weather. Lovely views over the village of Rotova to the hills. Short walk to the village which was very friendly but not touristy. Nearest town, Gandia, has a fantastic beach with free parking nearby. Many thanks to Menno and David who welcomed us on arrival, dealt with any queries very promptly and were excellent hosts. We hope to return soon. bedroomfean

Wonderful relaxing stay at Finca Craig

We have just returned from a fantastic two week holiday at Finca Craig. The Finca was really spacious for our party of 7 (5 adults and 2 children). The pool is amazing to chill out in (and cool off in!). There are plenty of sunloungers, parasols and chairs around the pool so there is always a shady spot to relax in if needed. We loved eating meals at the huge table under the gazebo and made use of the barbecue. The kitchen is well equipped and has everything needed. Our stay was during the heat wave and one day the temperature reached 45 degrees - we were so thankful for the air con in the upstairs bedrooms at night! We didn't hire a car but as you can walk into the centre of Rotova in 5 -10 mins, that wasn't an issue for us. We were able to get everything we needed for our stay. There are 2 small supermarkets, a pharmacy, a bank, 2 bars/restaurants (and the social centre which serves drinks) and a wonderful bakery pretty much on the doorstep. You can also get drinks/pizzas at the sports centre and there is a pizza takaway in the town open weekend evenings. We walked to Alfauir one morning which also has a small supermarket and a couple of bars. We were lucky that our stay coincided with the Moors & Christians fiesta on the first weekend in August which was a real special experience. Colin and Karen were thoughtful and helpful hosts. They respected our privacy but were also available to help eg. when booking a taxi to Gandia beach or making a dinner reservation.

A lovely time in Rótova

Great garden and pool, very well looked after. Pleasant and very helpful hosts who helped us with things like finding a pharmacy and booking a local restaurant. The house was very comfortable. We found the area had many places to visit, not only the long sandy beaches. Would definitely recommend it.

Maravillosa!!

Decidimos pasar unas vacaciones en familia, padres, tíos, primos..y no pudimos encontrar un lugar mejor. Colin es un anfitrión perfecto!! Muy atento, amable y simpático, está siempre que lo necesitas. El exterior de la casa es precioso, muchísimas plantas, árboles frutales, palmeras..y la piscina fantástica. Un cenador estupendo con una mesa enorme, para comer, cenar y disfrutar en familia. El interior de la casa muy bien, 5 habitaciones muy amplias, aire acondicionado, 3 baños, cocina amplia y no falta ni un detalle, sobre todo en menaje. Además Colin nos sorprendió con un detalle de bienvenida que es muy de agradecer, sobre todo cuando llegas cansado por el viaje, pan de pueblo, cookies, leche, vino...etc una maravilla de verdad. Repetiremos seguro. Hemos quedado encantados incluso con sus preciosos mininos que venían a visitarnos cada día 😍. Muchísimas gracias por todo Colin, han sido unos días estupendos en familia y nos hemos sentido como en casa.

Wonderful place for the whole family

We were eight people of all ages who visited for about a week in July, and we had a great time. A wonderful villa with a garden and pool that feels like a small refreshing oasis. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Easy to communicate with when we had questions (directions, tips etc) -- answered quickly, no problems whatsoever. We really appreciated the welcome basket with wine, cheese and bread. Wifi-connection worked well, very easy to log on to. Every room had air condition and ceiling fans which really helped during the warm nights. The house is essentially fitted with everything you need, there is a dishwasher, microwave, gas stove and oven, washing machine, coffee maker, beach towels and more. Having access to a car is essential, since Rotova is a smaller village with just a few small stores. If you want to go to the ocean or go grocery shopping you really need a car. The city of Gandia is about a 15 minute drive away, they have everything you need there, plus a fantastic beach. We went to the beach twice, which was great, but just hanging by ourselves by the pool, in the wonderful garden was probably the best part of our trip. It's all very private, no disturbances, just a great place for the whole family. Highly recommended!

We loved it!

The house and the garden are beautiful, we had a lovely time at Colins house :) We loved the pool, which is very clean and there is enough space for everyone to relax next to it. We drove to a beach about 25 min away from the house which was recommended to us due to lots of shops and restaurants nearby (we travelled with 5 kids). Everywhere we ate out, the food was super delicious. We highly recommend the restaurant L'Almassera which is a 5 min ride away. The food and service were exceptionell. We enjoyed our stay very much! Colin lives next door and was always available if we had any questions. (The only thing that caught us by surprise was the number of really aggressive mosquitos. We recommend to bring a strong repellent to the house and apply it regularly ;))

Perfecto

La casa es ideal para desconectar y pasar unos días de descanso. Se encuentra en un pueblo muy tranquilo pero muy cerca de las estupendas playas de Gandía. Los anfitriones son muy amables y discretos. Muy agradecidos por el maravilloso pack de bienvenida. La casa estaba limpísima y las habitaciones son amplias con una decoración muy agradable. La cocina dispone de todo lo necesario. Disfrutamos mucho de la piscina y el jardín que la rodea , muy bonito y bien cuidado, proporciona zonas de sombra. El wifi es rápido y funciona bien en la casa y en casi todo el exterior. Era lo que esperábamos y hemos disfrutado de unas buenas vacaciones . Muchas gracias, Karen y Colin.

Geweldige woning met alles erop en eraan.

We hebben een geweldige vakantie gehad in het heerlijke huis van Colin en Karen. Heerlijk koel huis en een prachtige tuin met geweldig zwembad. Colin heeft echt alles eraan gedaan om het voor ons een heerlijke vakantie te laten worden. We hopen zeker nog een keer terug te komen met de familie.

Toller Urlaub

Wir hatten einen tollen Urlaub in Colins Ferienhaus. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Ein schönes Haus, eine tolle Außenanlage und der Pool war auch super. Colin war jederzeit offen für Fragen und hat uns wirklich weitergeholfen. Das ist nicht selbstverständlich. Der Ort ist klein und überschaubar, keine Touristenhochburg. Der nächstgrößere Ort ist nicht weit weg und bietet gute Shoppingmöglichkeiten. Die Landschaft rund herum ist wirklich schön und die Strände in der Nähe auch genial. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder buchen.

Estancia muy agradable

La casa estaba muy bien, los dueños muy atentos y simpáticos., Las habitaciones y baños grandes y limpios. La piscina perfecta. Lo único sobre lo que pondría alguna pega es la escalera, que tiene interiormente una de caracol que da miedo usarla y tienes que usar la exterior de la casa, pero no importa. Y la nevera de la cocina se nos quedaba pequeña porque era de 1.50 de alto (y una pequeñita, como de 60 cm de alto), y para una semana 3 familias, no nos cabían las cosas, ni en el congelador... pero te apañas. por lo demas genial, repetiremos!!!

Authentiek en rustig

We hebben een geweldige tijd gehad in Finca Graig. Voor wie van het massa toerisme wil weg blijven is deze locatie geweldig. Authentiek spaans huis van alle gemakken voorzien. Eigenaren zijn gastvrije behulpzame mensen. Dank Karen en colin!

Casa Craig

Great base to explore from. Markets, boat trips, train ride to Valencia with cycling down to the stunning Arts & Sciences Centre. History, shopping & tapas in Gandia enjoyed by all. Property has everything you need including lots of space for all to relax. Pool is refreshing at the end of a busy or lazy day. Hosts were discretely available & responsive whenever needed. A superb holiday!

Brilliant Holiday

We've just returned from a great holiday at Finca Craig. Colin and Karen gave us a lovely welcome and were always on hand but never intrusive. The Finca was very clean, comfortable and very well equipped. A real home from home and for 11 of us (3 generations) there was plenty of space. We spent a lot of time in the pool and pool area where there were plenty of sunbeds for all the family. We made good use of the BBQ and ate outside for all meals. It is just a short walk into Rotova where we bought lovely fresh bread and delicious cakes. The Bio Parc Zoo in Valencia is well worth a visit. Diamus beach is only a 15 minute drive away and is lovely,ideal for children. Thankyou Colin and Karen for a very enjoyable first family holiday abroad.

Great place - the real Spain!!!!!

Excellent communication. The owners live next door so are there if needed (we didn't) but never encroach on your holiday. The owners are great and very accommodating, they even supplied a second cot for our group. Nice spot above Rotova with a view of the countryside. The area is super quiet, nice little village with bread & beer places, what more do you need??? No English spoken but that's what we wanted, the locals loved our efforts. It's a stroll downhill to the village (10 mins) slightly longer back up!! The property is great, the bedrooms are spread over the two floors. Our party consisted of two families so this made for a natural split. Fans in the rooms help with the summer heat too. There is enough equipment in the kitchen and around the pool, stacks of sunbeds and chill out areas. We spent every meal outdoors and didn't use the lounge. Further a field the beach at Gandia is amazing with miles of golden sand, bars and restaurants as well as parking. Minimal shade on the beach though. All in all a great place to experience Spain away from the crowds. Thanks Colin & Karen for a great holiday.

Fabulous villa in beautiful location

We loved our stay here and Colin and Karen were so helpful from the day I booked to when we left. The house itself is really beautiful and well equipped. The pool and garden is stunning. We didn’t want to leave any day to do anything other than relax at the pool. Our teenagers and youngest kids loved it and would happily return ! We went to Gandia some evenings and it’s lovely - a stunning beach ! We would recommend this property and love to return again !
