«I booked this hotel for my birthday, wanting to be near the ocean, and it totally delivered! We stayed in the beautiful loft room, and the Dyson fan kept it nice and cool. Loved the bathroom and its size. The hotel staff were super friendly and helpful, but the pub/restaurant staff, not so much. We really wished we could've stayed longer (but the hotel was fully booked, of course). Having the beach so close was just perfect. I would definitely revisit Botany Bay Hotel.»

«Clean rooms , w/c seat was broken , window seal was sticky so item's stuck to the surface . Staff were really nice , the bar was good . Great to have free parking . Overall not bad but not memorable enough to return .»

«For me the staff and the welcome made this such a lovely stay. I was a little confused when I arrived as had to go upstairs to the bar to check in but the warm welcome by the owner and the staff made me really feel at home. I was a little worrIED about there being a lot of stairs and the very kind and friendly owner gave me a room on the first floor so I didn’t have to climb too many. My kettle wasn’t working and there was no tv remote and when I told them the kettle wasn’t working replaced ...

«We had a great stay here, it’s excellent value for money. Jim was a fantastic, friendly host. The breakfasts were nice, though we could have done with better vege options. The location is convenient, including proximity to bus routes and trains for exploring the area. Overall we would happily go back!»

«The hotel is ideally located on the promenade, with the high street on the other side. Easy access to the beach and local transport. The room was big, with nice interior and comfortable beds. Huge bathroom with bathtub and toiletries provided. There was tea/coffee making facilities in the room as well. The breakfast was nice, with a menu with cooked food to choose from and a small selection of cereals, juice, croissants and fresh fruit.»

«We were expecting a well maintained, boutique hotel, sadly it was not. Although refurbished in Nov 2014, the state of our room (1) lacked maintenance. Although each was relatively minor, when 10 issues are present, then the result is a disappointment. I relayed these to the receptionist on departure, and she seemed reluctant to seriously acknowledge the problem. This summed up the general feeling of laissez-faire.»

«The shared shower was cramped, dark, and you easily bang your head. Not only that you get a bang on the door by management stating checkouts 10am even though I was there 2 nights. Everytime you left the room you're interrogated by management wanting to know your every move. If you want a peaceful stay this isn't it. Needless to say I didn't stay the 2nd night found somewhere else.»

«Excellent location. En-suite room. Friendly staff. Quirky old Victorian style bathroom with shower in roll top bath (would not be suitable for those with mobility issues, as they would have difficulty getting in and out of the bath). It was very hot weather and only one opening window. The fan helps, but could do with air conditioning. The room is fine for a couple of nights. We had an enjoyable atay»

«Paul was super welcoming and accommodating and had some lovely suggestions for things to do in Margate. The Beetroot is in great location and there are plenty of places to get a drink, food or coffee less than 5 minutes away. The room itself was lovely and the bed was super comfy. The seating outside the room and the courtyard are a nice touch too. Thanks Paul! We’d definitely stay again.»
