"We arrived in great spirit, having high hopes for our first ever stay in the Bahamas. Our dreams where soon to be shattered as we entered Sandy Port in night time - yes, night time - only to find a place that is well overdue for a overhaul. The location is certainly decent, but the facilities / rooms are NOT. We were recommended to have our first meal at Twisted Lime, a local grease joint, with the worst ever greasiness you could possibly ever apply to foods. So that certainly set the tone. On new years eve (our second day), we asked for a recommendation on a place to eat and where ushered by the concierge into a taxi driven by a woman who where taxi-driver until dusk, and Voodoo-lady until dawn, and taken to his uncle’s grease joint in an area known as «fish frye» - which in fact felt more like «gimme yo monay or die». For a family of 5, with 3 children all under 8 years old this was not a pleasant experience to say the least. We had booked an exclusive trip to Exuma beach to Take place a few days after our arrival, but got so depressed by the low quality of life at Sandy Port and hence decided to book flights back to civilization only after 72 hours. In the end I guess we realized we rather eat the pigs available in a comfortable Miami BBQ restaurant, than swimming with them at Exuma having to sacrifice more of our precious holiday time at Sandy Port to do so."
