We were surprised by how cold the house was. Even once we had turned on all the heaters it was very very cold for a day and didn't fully warm up for 2 days so we were quite uncomfortable. I highly recommend anyone staying in the winter contacts the hosts in advance and asks them to ask the previous guests to leave the heating on. We also had some issues with the bedding which were inconvenient and had us remaking 2 of the three beds the first night, e.g. double bed made with a single sheet across so your feet ended up touching the duvet above. The pictures are true to the industrial aesthetic, which looks very nice. For me, I found it a bit dark in there and wished the lights had been on dimmers that could be turned up or down. .You definitely need a 4wd to get up the drive. We were a bit worried when it was icy but there waa a bucket of sandout which helped lots. Luckily we had hired a big strong 4wd so it was OK. Once the temp was above 0 it was okay.Potentially this place is better in the summer when it is warmer and brighter and the drive isn't icy. These issues aside, the view is amazing and the spa pool was lovely so it was pretty beautiful there. The kitchen had all the pots and pans you'd need and it was great to have a coffee machine. Once the house warmed up, it was nice.
