A great little hotel but there are some aspects that could be improved to make it even better. I was due to visit on Saturday 17th December and called ahead to see if I could check in early. They were very accommodating but it did bring an extra charge of £10, which brought the total for 2 nights to £170 which is quite expensive.
I stayed in room 1 which was up a flight of stairs with no lift , so If you do have any mobility problems or have a lot of luggage, you may want to request a room downstairs.
The room was lovely and nicely decorated but the main problem was the heating. There is only one radiator in the room and even when it was on max, it was luke warm with cold areas. I spoke with management and they did manage to find me a plug in heater but as it was only small and a large room, it took some time to heat it up. This meant that the first night was very cold for both myself and my 7 year old, so i had to have extra clothes.
Once the room was warm, I tried to open a window for a bit of fresh air to stop it being so stuffy and realised that you can’t open the window. There is a plastic screen which you can open but the actual window is inaccessible which could cause a problem in summer.
The shower was again only luke warm , even when it was on the maximum temperature, with a very low water pressure. Both myself and my son tried to warm ourselves up on the first night in the shower but had no such luck.
