Prepaid for a round trip private hotel transfer only to stand in the heat for 45 mins while a hotel rep positioned himself in the taxi queue on our behalf while we watched from a few feet away. Upon arrival we were offered an ocean view upgrade, we declined and the front desk agent said “I’ll still give you the room”. She had already written the room number down on the card she handed us. Sad attempt to upsell. We were promptly harassed by our “vacation planner” who was really just trying to get us to attend a 90 minute sales presentation to join their vacation club. Every subsequent walk through the lobby, we were met by this agent offering to incentivize us with whale watching excursions and massages. It got to the point where we avoided the lobby at all costs to prevent awkward exchanges with him and consistently having to turn down his advances. We walked the property excited to indulge in the dinner offerings and were promptly disappointed to find that only two of the restaurants were open, as the property accommodated a large group hosting a sales award ceremony. This party was located outside in the event space directly below our room and the music and cheering didn’t subside until 10pm. The room was significantly smaller than advertised online as they had renovated and turned part of the room into an outdoor balcony with a single person bathtub. Not the private jetted tub inside the room as advertised. Prepare for sectioned off areas for “members only”
