«Absolutely unreal. The staff, every single one of them are fantastic. Here for a wedding locally and we greeted were warmly by all the staff here. The room is very large, very clean and well ventilated. The small touches in the room were very welcome, good towels, comfortable large bed and great coffee tray. We went for lunch in the restaurant and it was out of this world, the duo of lamb being the absolute favourite. It was so tender, the ragu tartlet was rich and delicious with the pastry case ...

«We had a lovely weekend at The Red Lion. The staff were incredibly helpful both ahead of and during our stay, and the pub food and breakfasts were very tasty. Our room felt a little dated and in need of maintenance in places, especially in the bathroom, but it served its purpose for our stay and we would be happy to go again.»

«The breakfast times could have been later, as finished at 9am on Monday. The bar was supposed to close at 11pm but was closed by 10.15pm. The rooms were basic and shower not powerful. However, were clean and still had everything that was needed. Lots of choice of food and drink and fresh.»

The choice is minimal and quality should be better. If the breakfast options included fried eggs or pouched eggs and the supplied bread, jam and sausage quality would be better the rating would be much higher.»

«Make sure that your booking hasn't been cancelled by a disgruntled staff member before you arrive. The room was nice and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was ok, it was greasy and I didn't dare try the egg because it looked only just cooked yet the yolk was hard. The other items were nice.»

«Check in and check out did take a lot of time. Reserved 50 pound on my card, I try to avoid hotels that do that. On a journey I can stay on many hotels and will then end up with a lot reserved if everyone used this practise. Tried to call room service to order, but in one hour no one answered so I went out for food.»
