«Beautiful scenery over to the Waikato hills. Alpacas on the doorstep greeting you among the other animals on the property. The owner was accommodating, very friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make our stay as fantastic as possible. He gave awesome tips about places to visit including the Nikau cave! The accommodation was very clean and tidy, and everything you could need was made available. I Would 100% recommend staying here and would love to again in the future.»

«This was such a lovely place to stay. I came here to get over my jetlag before my trip abd it was just perfect. Local dairy/shop, takeaway, lovely river walk straight out of the garden, easy to catch the bus into town.Slept well with a comfy bed, nice powerful shower and great kitchen with plenty of space.Lots of films and programmes on the amazon prime with the TV.The owner and his wife offered to pick me up anything from the supermarket if I needed it. Really kind people thank you. »

«The property is near new, nice and tidy. The property is easy to get to once we were made aware of the number. The advertising of the property suggests it is a 4-bedroom house, it is actually a 3-bedroom house with a separate unit on the section that is not attached to the main house. The unit is fully equipped for 2 people. The parking was difficult to get into with a large car. The kitchen has minimal equipment, 4 forks, 5 knives, 6 cups, when the property sleeps 8.»

"Castaways does not deserve its 5 stars. It feels more like a standard motel with large rooms and a nice view. The rooms were worn out, the TV lifting system which avoided the TV from blocking the view was broken, both toilets were loose from the floor, one lamp was broken, the windows were very dirty hiding the view that the TV didn’t spoil. The staff in the resection did not show any interest in providing service and just asked us to check with Chat GPT when we asked about some lokal recommendations. The breakfast was also disappointing and had instant powder coffee! "
