The Golden Sunset Villa on a resort with beach access

In Costa Rica, you will notice at sunset locals (Tico’s) and tourists alike stop to watch the sun go down. That is why our unit is the perfect place to land with a drink in your hand while you enjoy the spectacular Costa Rician sunset. This three bedroom, two bath, 1500 sq ft plus unit has a 180 degree unobstructed view of the ocean. Perfectly located just one villa from the public pool with the swim up bar, unit pool towels have been provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the dishes, glassware, and cooking items you could need. The bedrooms all come with towels, bedding and very comfortable beds. In the last bedroom you have access to full sized washer and dryer. Although many come to Costa Rica to enjoy the heat, each room has personal AC units to adjust for your comfort. If that doesn’t work, cool down in the private plunge pool located on the deck. Because we recognize the importance in keeping in touch with loved ones, wireless high-speed internet has been provided at no additional charge.

On this resort you have the option of choosing to go all inclusive, make your own meals in the fully equipped kitchen or a hybrid of the two. The all-inclusive option, or credit on your wrist bands is set up with the front desk of the resort upon your check in at arrival. This is a secured gated community resort so; it is important you give us the names of all the guest checking in so we can provide enough resort wrist bands for all. There are three pools (quiet bubbling pool, swim up bar pool, and restaurant pool), spa, ping pong, foosball, tour desk and entertainment staff to keep you the excitement going. From 8am to 10pm free trams take you all around the resort from areas, restaurant or to the beach. If the tram is not your thing, the beach is only a 6 mins walk away. There you can explore jet skiing, banana boating, suntanning, exploring hidden beaches, snorkeling, surfing, scuba diving, and so much more. If you are looking for alcohol or groceries, walk only 10 mins down the street from the resort to find your liquor and grocery store. All of this is located only 20 mins from the Liberia airport, making this the perfect spot to put your feet up just in time for the sunset.

This property does not meet basic hospitality standards & the host’s conduct was unprofessional throughout our stay. We own 6 STRs & manage over 30 luxury properties. Based on that experience, this home falls far below acceptable cleanliness, maintenance, & service expectations. Upon arrival, all bed linens were heavily soiled with bodily fluids and dirt, including visible blood stains. Towels were bleach-stained. The host offered to replace only the towels—not the unusable bedding. The property itself was in disrepair, with broken floor tiles, chipped dirty walls, barely functioning sinks, water leak stains on ceiling & broken kitchen AC unit. The outdoor amenities were also neglected. The pool was extremely dirty & unusable the first night. We were initially told to clean it ourselves. After repeated complaints was it properly serviced the next day. Bunkbed is held together with lattice & bad mattress. We noted basic appliances (blender - labelled) were missing. Most concerning was severe noise disturbance from a nearby club blasting loud music & karaoke nightly from approximately 5pm til 12am making the outdoor space unusable & repeatedly waking our toddlers. The host denied this issue despite it occurring nightly. After two disrupted nights, Expedia reviewed our complaint regarding listing inaccuracies & issued a refund. In retaliation, the host charged our credit card for the missing blender we asked to have replaced upon arrival. Avoid this place at all costs!

We loved this Villa. The view was spectacular and the location was perfect. The owner was extremely responsive we all of my questions since this was the first time in Costa Rica. We are already talking about going back. I would highly recommend this resort and Villa.

This was an amazing villa on the Villa Sol property in Playa Hermosa. The villa was clean and very well appointed. Everything you need to make a meal, enjoy a drink on the patio or go to the beach (sand/water toys, beach chairs, and even a cooler!). We loved having the private pool and patio with amazing sunset views. The villa was also very close to the main pool and wetbar if you prefer that. The resort does have scheduled activities daily as well. Robyn was great with communication and any questions we had during our stay. The restaurant on site was only so-so and very high prices so I would recommend using the host's recommendations and eating in town or cooking your own meals and eating on the patio (the grocery store is a 10 minute walk from the resort). Check-in and check-out was convenient and staff was all very friendly. The shuttle service was a must as the hills in the resort are pretty arduous, especially if you're carrying groceries or beach gear. Pura Vida!

We had a great stay. Our concierge contact Raquel was prompt is addressing any question we had. Only issue we had, not related to the place or booking, was with parking at the villas check in before getting in to the actual unit. There was a tourist bus parked and took most of the parking space. My wife asked the person who was directing bus traffic about our parking, he was very rude and not helpful at all. Also signs are little confusing for this unit. For future traveler, please look for small signs on left before going up the steep hill.

Loved the villa

First time in Costa Rica! The Villa was excellent. Well equipped, everything we could have asked for. Raquel the property manager was outstanding. She met us when we arrived & walked us through the Villa. In addition she was always available through WhatsApp and assisted us in getting shuttled to & from the airport, organized a taxi & an excursion. Comfy Safe Visit

The place was easily large enough for 4 adults (one couple). It is a bit tricky to find, as it is down the left side of the road and not clearly marked. The view is fantastic. Make sure you lock the slider door, as the raccoons know how to open it. The house is very close to the pool, which could be a plus for some and a minus for others. The food options at the beach are much better than the restaurant's buffet and more reasonably priced. Parking can really be a challenge. It is best to unload the car while it is parked with flashers at the top of the steps and then go park. The roads are paved at the resort but very steep and narrow. We spent most of our time on the deck enjoying the amazing view. The owner was very communicative. Thank you!

Better than an all-inclusive

Our stay at Villa Sol on Playa Hermosa was excellent. First, the villa is ideal for a small family of 5-6 people. It had all the dishes and kitchen amenities we needed to cook for ourselves. We also had the option of eating at one of the local restaurants or the on-site hotel restaurant.

Perfect Stay!

This was the perfect place for our first visit to Costa Rica! The villa was a great size for our family of 5, with amazing views, relaxing plunge pool, and spacious outside area. We very much enjoyed out stay! The condo was spacious enough for all six people. Loved the outside patio area with the private pool and incredible view of Playa Hermosa. Pools onsite at the hotel were also great! One note to be cautious of are the raccoons and cats at night (rare during the day) but as long as the door is closed all is well. We loved our stay and would stay again!

Great Beach Vacation Stay
