Family friendly. Also, the staff went above & beyond when we accidentally lost a valuable. I appreciate their initiative when I called guest services for help. Food at the Festival buffet was so good & fresh, make sure you come by around the opening times 😜 The pools were a hit for the kids esp. the water park by the beach. Also, visit the sister resort Caracol for eco activities for the family. Thank you Sandos, we will come back!

The property as a whole is really cool. It's like you're in a jungle. The beach at this resort is very beautiful. However, the service, food and overall experience was not it. I would not stay here again. The property is very large and there aren't enough trolleys to shuttle people around. The food at buffet is very repetitive and there aren't too many options, nothing is labeled so you are left wondering what you are eating. The restaurants are always booked and cannot accommodate any large parties. The first day we arrived we went to one of the smaller slide water parks and the water was soo dirty. The slide was not working so my son has to climb down and was covered in mold. The other pools were also not as clean as they should be. All in all, very disappointed.

All the staff constantly went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Samuel took excellent care of us at breakfast each day and Melqui made our pool days the best! The grounds were beautiful, we really enjoyed all of the animals and vegetation. We had no trouble making dinner reservations each night and enjoyed all the dining options. I would recommend to a friend and would stay again. It was an easy $10 taxi to 5th ave and just an hour from CUN.

Our whole family was on this trip (22 ppl) and we all loved and enjoyed it! Raul the bell boy was extremely helpful the entire trip. Angel in the kids club took well care watching over our kids. Endless fun and relaxation

This resort is beautiful but its way to big and theres alot of walking to do.it can get very stressful if you are taking kids.They do have the little golf carts but most of the time theres only one running and its always full if you dont get the chance to get on you do have to wait a good 20 to 30 min for it to come back. Food was by far the worse my whole family got food poisoning the only reservation we made was for the Mexican restaurant and it was not good at all. The service at this resort was horrible specially at the bars they always seem bothered. The main family pool was dirty. Our room was beautiful and very clean. room service would come around everyday to clean it up. To make reservations at the restaurants was nearly impossible. The resort also seemed to be under staff at the restaurant and bars. We were really looking forward for this vacation with our kids and it was a big disappointment. We will not be coming back.

The hotel didn’t do a good job at cleaning the seaweed up. Properties around cleaned it up several times a day. Lack of transportation during peak hours. The grounds were in need of a good cleaning (under brush was thick with dead debris). The adults only pool had children swimming in it. Lack of nightly entertainment (surrounding hotels had nightly activities we could hear and see from our resort). Crumbling stairs. Pools closed at 8. Says it’s a 5 star resort but is more a 3 star.

I think the biggest con there is the food was bland and there are areas where it smells real bad like a sewer which made me want to gag a few times. The service was good besides a few workers demanding for tips which is a turn off.

The property was great, we had a great time as a family. Our kids loved being able to eat cupcakes at all times of the day! The lattes were great too! The property was very big, lots of walking. It would have been nice for the shuttle to run more often especially during busy times like morning, late afternoon and evenings. We enjoyed the bikes to go off property. And loved our 2hrs of pickleball every morning. Our group had people age 1 to 76 and everyone had a great time.

I spoke and addressed issue with sliding glass door was hard to open took two to open and I got stuck out on balcony my friend closed it while she went out side of room and no handle to open from the outside I had to wait for over one hour in the heat ! I spoke to The concierge about the issue they were suppose to fix it they didn’t cal me unit my last night ! That was too late ! The buffer was terrible ! and the music was caters to the Caucasians We heard very little Mexican music if any at all

Sandos Playacar is a wonderful resort. Have stayed several times BECAUSE it is listed as a Expedia VIP access resort and I have Expedia gold member tier status. The only VIP benefit offered was 25.00 off spa treatment. Never received sparkling wine and they wouldn’t budge when requesting room upgrade. Was told by reservation desk and customer representative “only upon availability listed in contract”. Resort wasn’t crowded. I was able to book all restaurants for dinner before the nightly shows began. Shows are very good. . Adult section rooms need attention. Elevators closest to Festival Buffet down in buildings 1 & 2 during our week stay. Used all pools except those designated for Royal Elite. All very nice. Next year I am searching Expedia for other VIP resorts. Sandos Playacar should not be listed as a VIP resort. Entertainment, restaurant, bartenders, waiters, spa and housekeeping staff great. Another party traveling with us did have 1 issue with house keeping which was reported and resolved. We love this resort but if you’re booking for the VIP experience, You may want to opt for another resort.

I do not recommend staying at this hotel for a family vacation. Starting from walking in our hotel rooms, it smelled like mold and was very unpleasant to walk in to. On our third day at 5 am, our room got flooded by water from the ceiling and damaged all of our clothes and belongings. The guest service and maintenance came 5 hours later and never insisted for us to switch different rooms. Also, in the resort and in our room, they dont provide clean water bottles to drink water from. Only a broken 5 gallon machine in each room from not being replaced in so long. Also having to pay 12 dollars for a single water bottle at the gift shop. From this, the food was terrible. From breakfast to lunch and to dinner everything was horrible nothing tasted good. I recommend end not to waist your time and money on this resort specifically Sandos resort

Overall we enjoyed our stay! Good things: Spacious room with bunk bed, two waterslide parks, multiple pool options, many delicious juice options, Mexican quick food restaurant fast/yummy, free bike rentals!, resident cats on property, quiet in the evening. Areas for improvement: Food (this is the first all-inclusive we've been to where the food didn't hit the mark) (limited vegetarian options, stale tortilla chips, no soft serve ice cream, no chocolate milk at dinner), all activities were on the beach - would have enjoyed some at the pool, corrosion in shower.

This was my first time in Sandos. The shows are amazing, staff is friendly. I spent 6 days and got bored of the food choices in the buffet area. They repeated the food. The same day I arrived I tried to book a reservation in any of the restaurants they have, but they were full. Out of the 6 days I spent there, I got only 2 days available to make a reservation but they have a late dinner time (9pm) which I didn't take because I didn't want to miss the night show.

The property was nice, you have to walk to the beach but can also take the trolley. I liked walking after breakfast since it gave you something to do. The food was great and loved the octopus at the Italian spot. The Mexican restaurant had some really good food as well. All restaurants were great and the buffet was amazing as well, a lot of food there. Entertainment was fun daily and the beach is beautiful when there is no seaweed. Service by the staff was great and felt that is one of the biggest things about Cancun in general, the people always smiling.

Very nice resort. Staff can be a bit pushy at times for the spa especially. Food was good. Staff is very friendly and talkative. More of a family/couples resort.
