4/10 – Dårlig

I stayed at this hotel during spring break. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms were clean, but the Wi-Fi was very poor.
What stood out most were several interactions that made me feel singled out and unwelcome.
At the towel bar, in 38°C heat, I (a visibly pregnant Latina woman, 27 weeks) asked for a cup so I could use the water fountain, which requires either a bottle or a cup. I was told, “sorry, we ran out of cups.” Two minutes later, my husband, a white European male, asked the same staff member and was told, “we ran out of cups, but we have bottles of water,” and he was given a cold bottled water.
On another day, when I asked for towels, the first question I was asked was, “do you have a daily pass?” I said I was a hotel guest, but was told I could not be served without a wristband, one I had never been given. Meanwhile, others in line, including my husband earlier that day, were served without one. I was then asked to wear a generic plastic wristband, despite no one else around me wearing one, to receive service.
When I later spoke to the concierge, the interaction felt dismissive and I was quickly given a blue wristband that, although similar in colour, was noticeably different from those worn but other guests.
These were not subtle differences. Being the only person singled out in these situations was not only uncomfortable, but humiliating.
I can’t speak to intent, but the inconsistency in how I was treated compared to others was clear and concerning.
