This is the best Holiday Inn Express I've ever stayed in and it's the only hotel we use when we travel! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful! The property is extremely clean and you can tell they take cleanliness seriously. It is very close to the 101, which is a main thoroughfare around Phoenix. We used this location as a base for our 6 days here for baseball games, Apache Trail, golf, and other activities. The breakfast was good. Always egg options, breakfast meat options, pancakes, oatmeal, and toast. They do seem to run out of yogurt often but we just ran to Fry's grocery (literally everywhere in Phoenix) and bought us some and kept in our room. If you're familiar with HIE, it's a typical breakfast here. But, it saved us a lot of money and allowed us to spend money on other things and really good dinners! I do wish breakfast opened at 6:00, rather than 6:30. We couldn't eat one morning because our tee time was at 7:15 and it was pushing it another morning. You have to tee off early so you're not caught in the crazy desert heat of the afternoon!
The ice machines worked. The gym is simple but sufficed for me to get some workouts in and was incredibly clean! The laundry can be charged to your room and the front desk will give you tokens to use. I recommend bringing your own pods and dryer sheets rather than purchase from the hotel!
