The hotel was unique, clean and well located to downtown Petaluma. A good value. I was put off upon arrival by the locked entry door to the place and signage posted on the door with many "no this and that" rules. Also the sheet I was asked to sign upon check in with very prominent you will be "charged for this and that" if you do certain things -none of which I had planned to do. All were reasonable rules but it all felt very unwelcoming to be presented with so boldly in the way it was upon arrival. Made me feel as if there was a lack of trust and security opposed to be greeted with more positives. I would rather do that digitally for example prior to arrival so it doesn't set a negative tone for me. Luckily the room was private so we didn't need to interact with the manager past check in. I am sure many people with thicker skin wouldn't mind this at all.
