Such a peaceful property with beautiful gardens full of song birds. The delicious breakfast was served in a delightful dining room with a view of the garden.

Great place to stay
Stafford House proved to be a great place to stay for a few days visiting one of our children nearby. A really warm welcome from Hazel, everything we could need provided in the room, amazing breakfasts, room/bathroom perfectly clean. We can wholeheartedly recommend Stafford House, and we would happily stay here again in the future.

Made a return trip to this beautiful spot. Never miss a stay of I am in the area. There are so many features and conveniences that I notice new ones each stay. This time it was induction phone chargers. Continuous improvement.

I received a warm welcome from Hazel, who escorted me to a beautiful room. The four-poster bed was very comfortable, the mini fridge held fruit, water and milk. The tea/coffee station has a huge variety of drinks and tasty biscuits. Breakfast was very tasty!

I seldom put up review. This place does deserves 10 out of 10 rating. Spotless room with lots of amenities in room ( snacks fruits coffee and tea). Especially love the breakfast with lots of choice. The owner very friendly and gives warm welcome, plus having a great garden for hanging out and photos.

A very good stay!
Probably the best thing about the guesthouse is its hostess, Hazel. But there are other things to like as well: walls two feet thick, finely fitted cabinetry, room amenities (bar fridge, fresh fruit etc.), red squirrels, and the tie to Greystoke Castle's most famous (if fictional) owner, Tarzan. Breakfast was also fine!

Wonderful stay in Greystoke
It was such a treat to stay at Stafford House. The location in the wonderful garden was lovely and the attention to detail was incredible. I would 100% recommend a stay here.

This is an oasis of tranquility with a lush garden, part of an ancestral estate, set in a small, award winning village with an excellent pub. Our hosts were most considerate and could not have done more to accommodate dietary needs.

Absolutely beautiful property and enjoyed this BnB experience!! The home is restored to perfection. Kept the traditional charm with modern conveniences. The food was excellent and the bathrooms perfect. The only complaint I have is ordering breakfast. I’ve never had so much difficulty conveying my needs. It might be better to simply ask…portion size too…there was a lot even for the half portion. But thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality. Much appreciated!!

Lovely quaint accommodation with a patient and friendly hostess. Nice touches and history to the home. Connect with host directly to verify proper entrance to her home. We would definitely book again as it was a very homey accommodation!

My husband and i stayed for 3 nights for our Ruby Wedding in January, the property was beyond our expectations. Our room was super clean and comfortable and romantic perfect for our Anniversary. Hazel and Ian were the best hosts ever, nothing was too much trouble and the breakfasts were to die for, fantastic stay. We were travelling from Canada and being ex pats really miss the history and architecture, this property was perfect and we will definately be back again when travelling in this area again. Thank you once again Hazel and Ian you were wonderful many thanks and Happy New Year.

Truly a gem of a place. Both Hazel and Ian were wonderful hosts, making us feel welcome and at home. Great communication throughout.
