We booked this resort based on reviews, but feel like we were at a different resort than the reviews covered as our experience was not at all what other travellers posted.
It has potential, but falls short in many areas (food, cleanliness, overall condition). We understand it is a 3 star and therefore would not have all the amenities of a higher rated hotel and we were OK with that. We wanted a quiet holiday with good food which is how it is advertised. Had we not paid so much for the stay we would have left after day 2 as we have stayed at much nicer (similarly rated) hotels in the same area. By day 5 we just couldn't stay any longer. We have traveled to many hotels and always been able to make the best of it. Not here though which resulted in a loss of close to $3000 CDN. Thanks to Expedia Travel though we were able to find alternate accommodation for the remainder of the trip.
We booked a Master Suite which came at a premium, and though it offers more space and a large balcony it's not worth the charge for a variety of reasons including a large amount of animal feces (appears to be bat guano based on the bats that we found were living in the structure). This was never cleaned up despite requests for cleaning and it ended up making the patio unusable. I could go on, but in short save ypur hard earned money and stay elsewhere.
