Komfortabelt hotell i engelsk stil
Familien skulle på tur til Oxford for å oppleve engelsk kultur. Hotellet matchet formålet med reisen. Fin engelsk hotellstandard, men samtidig rent og ryddig. God restaurant med tradisjonell mat i moderne utgave. Store rom og greit bad. Vasken på badet kunne fungert bedre. Hyggelig og hjelpsomt personale. Alt i alt et meget bra hotell.

Very nice hotel with clean and comfortable rooms in a quiet area. Breakfast was also very good. We had a very nice stay, exactly as planned.

Idyllisk og rolig med god service
Vi bodde to netter på hotellet, og trivdes godt. Det var et stykke til byen (ca. 45 min gangavstand), men en fin vandretur langs Themsen. Godt busstilbud, så alt i alt grei beliggenhet. Fint hotell i en stor og idyllisk hage. Vi bodde på et skikkelig stort og komfortabelt værelse med gratis kaffe/ te/ vann, men dessverre med en ikke så veldig behagelig madrass i sengen... men rent og ordentlig på alle måter. Upåklagelig service, spesielt i restauranten, hvor vi spiste gode frokoster og middag begge kveldene. Et godt hotell!

Hotellet har en svært upraktisk beliggenhet når formålet er å besøke Oxford by. Meget uhensiktsmessig hotell å bruke når man ikke reiser med egen bil.

Hawkwell House Hotel i Oxford juni 2011
Pent og rent hotell, pent rom, pene omgivelser. Noen minutters gange til buss med hyppig avgang, lett å komme inn til Oxford City. Visstnok vakker fottur langs Themsen, 30-40 minutter, til bykjenrnen. Ikke prøvd. Et hotell vi gjerne kommer tilbake til. Minuset: Resepsjonspersonalet ikke godt nok m.h.p. informasjon om hva en kunne se og høre i Oxford. De fant noen brosjyrer, men her er et forbedringspotensiale for hotellet.

Quiet and relaxing surroundings
The hotel is not in walking distance to Oxford, but the surroundings are quiet with a charming garden. The hotel is a bit worn-out and unfashionable, but they have new, very comfortable matresses from Tempur. Dinner was good and they also offer free parking.

The rooms are in excellent condition. Felt modern, comfortable and clean. On-site free parking was a bonus. Great to have a restaurant in the hotel as well. Location was peaceful and not far from shops and restaurants.

I enjoyed my overnight stay in the Mercure in Oxford as was given a warm welcome, all queries answered and the staff I came into contact with were exemplary. I enjoyed staying in the original house of Francis Howard Binkerton. My only slight criticism was the grounds could benefit from a tidier appearance . I would recommend this hotel as I really enjoyed my stay . Please pass on my thanks.

The property is located in a residential area; so, it's very quiet, but not exactly walking distance to town center. That said, it's a short walk to bus stop, or simply get a taxi, which will be a short ride. Very attentive staff will make you feel at home.

Lovely Hotel needs a little tlc in places
The parking spaces were a bit difficult to get into and the rear wall of the property and antique door/gate needed some tlc or they will be lost. There were also some maintenance rooms with stuff showing in the windows, didnt look very premium. But these are minor issues. If I was having my wedding there it might bother me though.

Room was nice and clean but due to being put in the older building down the back the room was smaller than expected given we paid for a privilege room. The room did still have the other perks but I found the pictures on Expedia to be a little misleading if they consider this room to be part of the tier.

Beautiful hotel
Beautiful hotel. Excellent breakfast and very attentive staff. Other than the slightly rattly air conditioning/heating unit which woke me up a couple of times, we couldn’t fault it. It was lovely to walk from the hotel along the river into Oxford too.

Our two day stay for our daughter’s wedding has been as close to perfection as we could possibly get… the staff at this lovely hotel are beyond excellent, two members of staff in particular shone… John on reception as well as many other duties and JASMINE who truly helped to make our weekend so memorable, Jasmine is a star, in my humble opinion, the heart of this hotel. I would be proud to have her as my daughter. The food was of Michelin standard presented by high quality staff with dignity and professionalism of the highest order. Our wedding experience was amazing and we would recommend this hotel to anyone who may be looking for a venue for their own wedding. Thank you for looking after my daughter and new son in law. Our stay at the Mercure was overall very positive. We travelled from north devon to visit a family member at the Churchill hospital. We arrived at 1pm on Sunday and didnt expect to check in, but asked in the bar if we could have a quick sandwich before driving to the hospital. we were told that we could only have a roast dinner or chips. When asked, staff were told by chef that this was not possible. This was not a good first impression. Apart from this everything was excellent and all staff were polite, helpful and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.

slow start, good finish.
over all a good hotel to stay in , we got of to a bumpy start, as the room we were givin on arrival did not match up to the type we had booked on line, also the room was not cleaned to a high standard, after speaking with hotel staff were moved to a different room, this was a better room and in a quiet part of the hotel, the rest of our stay at the hotel was a good experience, just to add this was our second stay at this hotel, and we booked the hotel again because of our first experience. the breakfast is very good and you can have as much as you want, the staff are fantastic, if you plan on going in to oxford city centre , it is a good 20 minutes to walk , but could pop on the bus or drive in good car parking around the city, it's a good location for visting surrounding area's, Stratford and M.K. are only about one hour away. if you plan on having an evening meal in the hotel restaurant we felt that choice was limited and prices are high.

The hotel is clean and well decorated! Room design is good! But, no slipper and toothbrush/tooth paste provided! I can never connected to reception by the phone in room (seems connection problem)! So, I need to went to the reception to ask! I was told that slipper is not provided for the room! I am quite surprised for the room over £150 per night! But, I think it may be for Green! But, when I want to brush my teeth, I found not toothbrush and toothpaste provided! It again shocked me! I went to reception again and asked is it not included too! Luckily, the answer is no! I finally got a pack of toothpaste and toothbrush! Save my life!

Beautifully updated hotel just two blocks from the bus line or a less than 10£ cab. Beautiful residential neighborhood away from the noisy bars and restaurants. Great trade offs for more pricey options in city center.

A lovely hotel. John on reception was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The hotel was comfortable and relaxing. The room was comfortable but unfortunately for me with low vision, the lighting was frustratingly poor. I also found the wet room mean't you needed to put shoes on to re-enter each time after showering. These two minor points might not be an issue for others so I'd still recommend the hotel.
