I have heard various things about APA hotels, and the stay did neither worsen or better my impression of them as a hotel chain. When we arrived the hotel, it sadly caught my attention that it seems to be cleaned in somewhat a haste. There was a hair in the bath tub from maybe the cleaner, and a piece of chip on the floor underneath the desk. There were some dust here and there. The bed was big and comfortable with AC and light panel right next to the bed for convenience. Fitting two big suitcases in a double room will be a challenge, so we had to stumble around the room and walk on the bed and such to get around. So I would recommend something bigger for a couple travelling in Japan. They had quick check in and express check-out, which was nice. They sadly did not have much of an continental breakfast option, so skip the breakfast if you do not have acquired the taste for Japanese breakfast as a foreigner yet.
