Nice for families
Nice property for family vacation to the theme parks. Very close to Disney. Property was clean in gated community. Has pool, hot tub, pool table. Home was clean. If you are going with all older kids (teens)/adults the mattresses on the bunk beds are uncomfortable but they are fine smaller children. This would be easily fixed with foam toppers on kids mattresses. The hot tub thermostat is very difficult to see the numbers and does not run true to temp that is displayed, but it does get hot as it should. Overall I would recommend this property and would book again if in the area.

Had a great time at the house. Very convenient location. Pool and hot tub were perfect. Excellent communiation with Joe. An outside grill would be a nice addition for those who like to cook at the house. Thanks for sharing you home with us!

Great experience in Florida!
Ideal location for our visit in Florida. House was very clean, we enjoyed the pool, hot tub, pool table and the rest of the house amenities. Great, comfortable stay
This property was as advertised. We had great communication with the owner/host. My wife and I enjoyed the house very much. We enjoyed the pool after a long days watching our daughter play at the AAU National Volleyball Tournament. While it was more house than what we needed, since the team stayed together at another house in Emerald Island Resort, we really enjoyed the space and amenities.

Perfect for family
We were very happy with our stay. The house was clean, spacious and beautiful. The beds were comfortable memory foam. We paid for the pool heat and it was perfect. The hot tub was set a little lower but only took a few hours to reach the temp we wanted. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely place and great location
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. It was so conveniently located. The pool was the highlight for our 6and 12 year olds. They lived in it and so wonderful to have it attached to the house. Had two situations come up that ended up being totally our fault (misreading instructions and knocking the WiFi off accidentally) but the property manager immediately picked up the phone and even came over right away. Nice to to if something did go wrong(it didn’t) someone was there to take care of it.

Absolutely AMAZING!!!
The property was awesome! Everything was as detailed. Nice big clean home. It was my birthday myself and my family an friends enjoyed the pool an hot tub. The big rooms was big an spacious, beds were very comfortable. We felt right at home! The owners is super nice an responds back really quickly. We are truly happy with our stay an would HIGHLY recommend the property to all of our family and friends. Hopefully our next vacation we can enjoy once again!!! 5 stars from us!!!!

Great amenities and very close to Disney parks. The pool was heated and perfect temperature. Great!
Loved our time at the home. All very conveniently on one level, so great if anyone has mobility issues. Inside the home was clean and comfortable and my kids lover the themed bedrooms with bunk beds. We found the pool deck a bit dirty when we arrived but found the screening all around it helped keep bugs and critters at bay. Wonderful gated community, close to Disney with no tolls between the two (bonus). The owners were very helpful and quick to respond when we had a problem with the locks on one occasion during our two week stay. I would recommend this property for a family looking to enjoy a relaxing vacation with the privacy of a home near Disney. The resort community it’s located within also has amenities but we found we had everything we needed at the home. I recommend the property! I hope we are able to return.

Great Location!
Was the perfect house for our family as we visited the Disney Parks. All 4 parks were 15-20 min drive, and house was located close to several restaurants and grocery stores. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub in the evenings after returning from the parks. The washing machine and dryer were having some issues and I let the owner know in the morning, and both were fixed/replaced by the time we returned later that day. Great location/price/communication/etc… 5 stars!

Misleading property
The property was far from the advertisement. From when you entered it was DIRTY.... The light switches the rugs the floors up under the furniture the refrigerator the bathrooms the beds. The owner claimed he know that it was clean and that the property manager had did a walk through and it was clean. Well i surely would like to know what is their definition of clean and sanitized especially during COVID still being present? I have pictures of the nasty misleading house. A house that i had to go to and clean just to use the the toilet and shower after not arriving until 12:15 am from my flight to the house. Someone hair and urine was on the toilet and hair in the stand up shower in the main bedroom. Also i seen someone else had reviewed and said that the bedrooms didn't have cable tv and so when i did i messaged the owner then to ask about that situation to be given an excuse of it's something to do with the resort and that it was being fixed and would be fixed by the time I arrived. Well that was a lie because the day that i stayed in and didn't leave we had NO cabe tv NO no tv at all. Then the dirty green couch and loveseat that isn't even shown in the pics that you can clearly see the dirt. The owner came by once the morning had come and i had messaged him of my concerns that i had about the nastiness and he popped up in about 20 mins with a cloth and some type of cleaner that was over half empty and I'm m thinking to myself you need more than m that to fix whats going on in here. So i told him when I answered the door that i was already taking off the situation so that i could make it clean enough for my kids and I to be there. Then the hot tub and the pool was dirty. He came up with excuses about the hot tub and the screen allowing it to get dirty. But upon arrival the hot tub wasn't even covered that would be problem number 1 right there. I quickly got rid of him so i could carry on with cleaning so i could get to my day. The whole situation just didn't sit right with me though so the first day that i had time to figure out how to contact Vrbo I did and then they received the pictures and told me they had to contact the owner because of the situation and he once again had an excuse for everything that was and pretty much sweared that he knew for sure that the property wasn't dirty but i had pics date stamped from the 4th which was my arrival. Just everyone that may have booked this property think twice the pictures don't match property

Let me start my response to those reading this review by stating a fact. I have owned multiple rentals since 2013. I average five stars on all of them. This is the first time, with multiple properties, I have ever asked a guest to leave before their stay was complete. After discussing it with VRBO, I reimbursed Kayla approximately $1,000 and took a loss rather than have their family stay one day longer. I am not going to go line by line and refute what she said. That would serve no purpose. I will say a couple of things. She called me upon arrival and said the house was not clean. I immediately went there with cleaning supplies in hand. I arrived less than 10 minutes after she arrived and called me. Less than 10 minutes. I apologized and asked her to show me what needed to be cleaned. There was nothing wrong. She said she had already cleaned it. Since the house looked and smelled perfect, I asked for photos so I could show my manager and make sure this did not happen. She told me she took some, but would not show them to me. I asked her to email them to me. She did not. My manager told me he personally did the audit after the cleaning staff and before the guest and the house was pristine. We have an audit after our guest leave, then another one after the cleaning staff and before the next guest. A week into her two week stay she contacted VRBO to complain about the house upon arrival...one week previous. I tried to talk to her on a conference call with VRBO customer service and after approximately three minutes of listening to extremely unkind speech, the customer service representative and myself decided the call was unproductive. It was at this point we chose to ask her to leave. I do not know her motivation for her claims. I only ask you, our potential guest, to read 8 years worth of reviews and decide if this one outlier is a valid representation of our home.

Somethings needed attention
The pool was great to have but it was dirty and needed attention. The patio hadn’t been swept and even trash was left from previous visitors. The main ceiling fan didn’t work and the temp inside couldn’t go below 73 per instructions from home owner. The TV in the bedroom had no channels that worked for main channels. No towels or wash cloths were left so the owner had his daughter bring us some. Needless to say not near enough for our stay or the number of people. The home was in a great location. Lots of dining choices. Great shopping near by. The owner was great with our concerns & questions. Our expectations were high and not met.

Enjoyed ourselves
Check in process was a breeze. House came with everything we needed but an iron lol. We reached out to the owner and they had one dropped off while we were out but it didn't work. Not a huge deal. The sliding glass door was a pain in the but to open and shut but I guess that is good when you have little ones. We didn't hear an alarm for the pool as advertised. The ceiling fan in the living room didn't work causing it to be hot at times. The ac doesn't go less then 73 and the pots and pans could use an update. Overall we enjoyed our stay so much that we extended for 2 more days. The location is perfect and super close to everything. We even found an amazing ice cream place that we visited 2 times while we were there. We didn't use the community pool because our pool at the house was enough.

Our FIRST trip to Disney
Villa was in fantastic location very close to disney parks and lots of other places. Communication before we arrived was brilliant lots of information about the villa sent which was fantastic. Communication whilst we was there was non existant we had a few issues on arrival and emailed management with a reply saying contact me through Airbnb which wasn't helpful at all. Luckily my husband is very handy and managed to sort out the WiFi which wasn't working, TV not working and the broken equipment (toaster switch and fridge shelf) Make sure you take teddies for your children there are no Disney teddies in the property which are pictured in the bedrooms. Overall villa was very nice a washing maiden would be amazing but maybe we didn't find it?. Security in complex was very good. Welcome items and message was lovely too.

Once everything was corrected at pool and hot tub maintenance the house was excellent
When we booked vacation home we paid for pool and spa heating. When we arrived both the pool and spa were not usable and in need of disinfecting, sanitizing and cleaning. We arrived on a Sunday and contacted both the maintenance company and owner about the situation. Both responded promptly and the maintenance company people came out on Sunday evening. Regrettably the pool service people didn't get out until Tuesday afternoon and we had to wait a further 3 hours before we could use to allow all the chemicals to dissolve in both the pool and spa. Once this was resolved we thoroughly enjoyed the vacation home, pool and spa. The maintenance people Hanna, Ellis and Evan were all great! The pool maintenance guy (didn't get his name) was also very professional. Thanks Joe for getting these issues dealt with it, it was much appreciated! Dan

Good home in quiet location
The villa is set in a good quiet location in the resort compex, not too far from the clubhouse. We had an issue on arrival as the pool and spa weren't clean which we reported to Joe right away and to be fair if no-one tells you there's a problem you can't fix it. Think he was badly let down by his pool contractor who he had been paying and it hadn't been getting done properly, if at all most recently. Couple of days and contractors later it was sorted. Joe did his best and refunded us some compensation, it's how you deal with the problem when known that counts and he done well considering. Master bedroom was comfortable, other rooms good and clean too. Kitchen well equipped and pool table, kids games and TV console were good. Nice touch with loads of pool towels which was really good. With couple little touches like better sheets to beds, new outside furniture including sunloungers and table / chairs the outside area would be more appealing. Some gaps in the netting and underside of base rail which could be filled. The front door didn't do the property justice we felt and could do with a fresh lick of paint or a better quality door altogether. One other thing was the cleaner arrived a day earlier than our check-out day as they had mixed up dates in diary but these things can happen as I know myself. Overall good place, some constructive information to take on board if so wish. Joe was really nice and helpful.

Had everything we needed and more.
Easy commute to Disney. Bummed we had some rainy days and didn’t get to use club house or community pool. Master bedroom bed was so comfy. Kids loved the pool almost as much as Disney. They kept asking are we going to get home early enough to swim everyday? Only cons were having to stagger bath times to not run out of hot water and conflicting checkout times. HomeAway said checkout was at 11am, but maid showed up at 10am for cleaning so we felt a little rushed packing up (maid was very sweet we just wanted to get out of her way). My two year old loved the pool table so much - she would wake up and ask if we could play balls? Would definitely stay here again. Thank You so much for allowing us to to rent your home!

Perfect home!
The house was extremely clean! Plenty of beach towels! Everything needed in the kitchen to prepare a meal or snack. Having the pool backed up to woods was nice as it was very private. Comfortable home from home.
We stayed here for 11 nights for our ‘once in a lifetime’ holiday - us, our daughter and her husband and their 4 children, aged 5 to 11 years. From the first minute we knew we had made the right choice with the villa; it was perfect. It is very well equipped, there was nothing we needed for our holiday that wasn’t provided. It was clean, spacious, decorated in a fresh and relaxing style and felt truly like a home from home. The beds were comfortable and there were masses of beautifully clean and fluffy towels. There were bicycles, pushchairs, wheelchair, barbecue, pool toys, washer, dryer, dishwasher, ceiling fans, air conditioning, plenty of coat hangers, gorgeous toiletries, super-equipped kitchen and tons of space. If it could be picked up and put down in England we would buy it! There were welcoming messages and treats from the owners and the pool was ready to dive into. The children spent so much time in the pool it’s a wonder they didn't shrink! Emerald Island is a very neat and tidy complex with beautifully kept grounds of flower borders, palm trees and lakes with fountains. Staff at the centre were helpful and friendly. We didn’t use the clubhouse area as much as anticipated but that was only because the villa had everything we wanted. It felt very safe, we had some concerns before we went about alligators, bears etc. But we didn’t encounter any wildlife except a couple of armadillo who came to the back fence in the evenings which we thought was charming. We planned the holiday to be Florida rather than Disney but we did visit some of the parks which we enjoyed in varying degrees. It was an easy drive from the villa to just about everything and we felt that when we arrived back at Emerald Island that we were home. It was just far enough away from the parks to make it seem a day out, but not so far that the children didn’t enjoy the travelling. The rodeo (Silver Spurs) was in everyone’s top 3 - highly recommended, followed by Discovery Cove, Aquatica and Animal Kingdom. The Magic Kingdom came way down the list! Locally, there was every kind of food available and we developed a taste for Taco Bell, tried American MacDonalds to see if it was the same! We has a great meal at Red Lobster, cooked our own meals sometimes and barbecued a few times. Golden Corral was a great ‘eat all you can’ place for breakfast - The owners, Joe and Denise, couldn’t have been more helpful and we all want to thank them for giving us all such a fabulous holiday,

Would highly recommend!
This was our first time staying off the Disney property in Orlando so we weren’t sure exactly what to expect. We quickly found that we had had more space than we were used to and looked forward to relaxing in our own pool/hot-tub after a long day at the parks. We couldn’t have had a better experience here and would highly recommend. Joe made our experience easy and we felt at home right when we walked in the door!

Winter holiday
This is a great place to rest after a day at Disney or other parks in the area. The private pool is great and the master bed is really nice and comfortable. We were a family of 4 from western Canada that had a wonderful time at this place. An uber ride to a Disney park will run you $12-15 and is cheaper than parking at priority parking. Lots of restaurant's and Walmart and Target nearby. We would recommend this to everyone!

nice home close to Disney
We spent 8 nights in late December/ early January. The house is very spacious and very clean. Kitchen is well stocked for our needs, we purchased breakfast food/snacks and mostly ate out the rest of the time. The beds were comfortable and had extra blankets which unfortunately we had to use because it was rather chilly that week in Florida. One thing when we all had to take showers in the morning we did run low on hot water, that is probably our only issue. We did use the hot tub a few times and that was great. We didn't get to use the pool as much as we had originally hoped to because of the weather, the kids went in a couple times. We enjoyed the pool table a few nights which was nice to have. We arrived late and check in was very smooth. We did notice that the gaming system was missing but game cases were left but empty, I had sent Joe a message so he would be aware and we weren't held accountable. He got back to me quickly and was actually in Florida at the time so he purchased a new system and came over to install it, quite impressed by that. All in all we had a great time wish we had warmer weather but would rent this house again if we were heading back to Orlando

We had a great holiday in this house. It had everything we needed and was close to loads of shops and restaurants not to mention all the amusement parks. The house is well maintained and has lots of nice little touches that made our stay outstanding. Would definitely go back. Stay here if you can!

Great place to stay!!
My family and I absolutely loved our stay at Mickey's Hideaway! The house is gorgeous, spacious and so well kept. The kitchen was nicely stocked with everything needed to make a couple family meals. The pool was a huge hit during our non park days AND evenings after coming home from the parks...the hot tub was really nice for the aching bodies after the long days of walking at Disney and Universal. We left a few pool toys behind for the next tenants to use. Joe and Denise were wonderful people to deal with...very nice and attentive. The only small issue we had was that the three bedrooms were all a little warm during our stay. We talked to the management company about it but they said there wasn't anything they could do about it because they can't lower the thermostat below 74 degrees. The main master suite was fine. Everything else was perfect. Thank you Joe and Denise for sharing your home with us. We will definitely plan on staying here again when we do our next family Disney vacation.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Mickey's Hideaway so much that we are already planning our next trip. The villa was well furnished with more than we could possibly need. They even had coolers and beach towels for us to take to the parks or the beach. We saved lots of money by cooking there. The pool and hot tub area is very private as it backs up to the woods. My husband and I enjoyed our own time out there after the kids went to sleep. The home is in a well kept, private community. We were so close to Disney that we could come back in the afternoon for a swim and nap break for the kids and then head back to the park after dinner. We absolutely loved our stay here, and Joe and Denise had the best communication that we've ever had with homeowners. They answered all our questions and gave us great tips. They seemed to really care that we enjoyed our time in their villa. Kudos! If you have the opportunity, stay here. We will again.

Unsurpassed Customer Service
We came here with my parents and our two children. During the entire process, Denise was stellar. We had never used an internet site to rent a home before, so we were a little worried. Her constant communication and quick, personal replies eased our minds. She also gave us tips on going to the parks, talked us into going to Typhoon Lagoon which my children actually liked more than the theme parks, and as a surprise sent us $25 to buy the kids a treat. The home was exactly as described. The only surprise was how much we loved our stay. If we can return, we will stay here again.

Brilliant homebase for all things Orlando
Our stay at Denise and Joe's Mickey's Hideaway was fantastic. As a group of 8 (ranging from 16years and up) coming from 3 corners of the world, it was great to arrive & simply feel at home. Everything was top shape & very clean. The kitchen was well stocked for even the number of people we had, the multiple living areas were spacious enough that no one ever felt on top of one another, the bedrooms & bathrooms were great & stocked with enough towels for everyone, & the garage with the washer & dryer was perfect, as well as the bikes & Christmas tree! Also, the pool & hot tub backing on to woodlands were the ideal spot to unwind at the end of the day & were both great temps & well cared for. It's obvious that Denise & Joe ensure the property is on top of its game for all visitors, & they are SUPER responsive to any questions you may have. So speaking of Denise & Joe, let me talk a little bit about them. When we booked our holiday we had contacted a number of properties. The Holmans were absolutely brilliant--before we'd even booked with them. They were helpful about the area, about properties in general, & any other question we threw their way (which were a ton). Ultimately, it was their friendliness, knowledge of the area, & openness that made our decision easy for us. We really felt that we were staying not only somewhere that meant something to the owners, but that WE as guests were important to them, as well! They were head & shoulders above anyone else with whom we had been in contact, & that was certainly borne out throughout our stay as well. As for proximity to attractions in the area, we visited both Universal & Disney, the outlets & other shopping. Universal was an easy drive or Uber away, & Disney was SO close & easy to get to. Shopping for food & the like is literally a bike ride away, & restaurants in the area are plenty--though again, the kitchen was so well stocked & the house so comfortable, we opted more often than not to stay in. The airport was an easy drive as well. Also the Emerald Island clubhouse was so close to the property that often we'd wander down there to the big pool & tiki bar for some afternoon fun. We would absolutely come again to this same property, would feel utterly confident in recommending it, & would not hesitate to book any other property that Joe & Denise may have. Both Mickey's Hideaway & the Holmans made our Christmas holiday an even greater joy...many, many thanks!!

Home away from Home
This is a very nice property and would recommend this to anyone looking to visit the Orlando area. This is our second time visiting Orlando and renting a home, but the first time renting this property. You will not be disappointed. We had a total of 7 people in our party, 4 adults and 3 children and there was more than enough room for all of us to have our space. The kids loved the pool and the water was very nice and warm so they were able to swim even on the cooler days. The hot tub was wonderful to soak in after the long days at the park. It is an actual hot tub and not a spa, so you are able to control the water temperature, unlike a spa. There was a separate living room area for the kids to watch Netflix or play the WII, giving the adults their space for the other living room area. The beds were comfortable and there were more than enough linens for everyone. There is a washer and dryer available giving the ability to pack on the lighter side. The kitchen is complete to do any type of cooking that you may wish to do. The unit was very clean upon arrival and the check in process was very simple. The owners, Joe and Denise make it a very simple process for your arrival and make sure that you have everything you need to make your arrival a smooth transaction. It is very worry free. The Emerald Island Resort is also beautiful and in a gated community with a clubhouse and pool if you do not chose to hand out at the house. This property made our vacation feel as close to feeling like we were at home as it could be and I would without a doubt return to this property when visiting the Orlando area. It is only a hop, skip and a jump to the Disney parks. You will not be disappointed.

Perfect for our family!
We had a perfect stay at Mickeys Hideaway! The property was very clean, comfortable, well equipped and close to what ever you want to do! The resort is well maintained and very secure. I loved that the property backed against a wooded area, it felt very private! The pool was perfectly warm (highly recommend paying for the pool heating) and the hot tub was relaxing after a long day at the parks. On our off days, just hanging out, we loved relaxing on the pool deck soaking up the warm FL sun. Having 2 master bedrooms and 2 kid rooms were perfect for us. Everyone had their own space. This property is all its described as....it felt like home! Our stay....3 kids (13, 12, 10), 3 adults - Nov 21-Dec 1, 2016

Very nice property
Joe and Denise, Thank you for sharing your home with us. We appreciate you being so accommodating and answering our questions so promptly. This was our first time staying off Disney property and the experience was nice. The house was very close to all the Disney parks. I felt safe in this gated community. The house provided all the amenities we needed. We liked using the pool and hot tub when we came home from the parks. My 16 year old daughter enjoyed having her own bedroom and bathroom, that was very nice! If you are looking to stay in the area, I would highly recommend this house. It was clean and very spacious. As far as the area, there is a Panera and Target close by. Lots of food options. Can be very busy though in the morning as it is a very touristy area. Keep that in mind if you are in a time crunch. Mickeys Hideaway
First time booking through Home Away. Mickeys Hideaway is a wonderful home and the owner's, Joe and Denise were extremely helpful and easy to contact. The home is in a wonderful location. It is located a very short walking distance to the clubhouse and an easy few miles drive to Disney. The house is well maintained, very comfortable beds and has all the necessities you need. My family really enjoyed the pool and hot tub. I would highly recommend this home. Thank you again joe and Denise we enjoyed our stay. Patti and family
