Leave your stress at the door and make yourself at home at "The Gantt Rant Resort." This oceanfront cottage style home comes with all the amenities to make life easy for you during your stay. This open concept home has a fully stocked kitchen with new stainless steel appliances. Sleep comfortably on premium mattresses with organic 100% cotton bedding. We provide linen service with top quality sheets and towels. Beach towels are also included and ready for you to use. The house has an upstairs with 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. There are 2 bedrooms each with King beds, 1 bedroom with 1 Queen bed, and 1 bedroom with 2 Queen beds upstairs. The downstairs has a separate entrance and contains laundry room with washer and dryer, bunk beds in the laundry room and separate room with Queen bed, full bath, and television. The downstairs is perfect for a separate family to have privacy or for older guests that cannot traverse the stairs. There is wifi and cable along with smart TVs with Hulu, Netflix, Prime, etc. upstairs and downstairs. There is a propane grill downstairs under the carport. There are also boogie boards, sand toys, beach chairs, and a beach stroller under the carport for you to enjoy. There are board games and a small library to keep you entertained during your stay. The house is oceanfront with a very short sand path leading to the beach. There is a relaxing outdoor shower conveniently located where you exit the beach. You can spend your days enjoying the beach without having to "set up camp" because you can go in and out of the house at will! The absolute best part of this amazing house is the huge deck overlooking the ocean! The deck contains a porch swing, rockers, picnic table for outdoor dining, and outdoor sectional style couch. Enjoy sunrises, sunsets, moons rising, and twinkling stars while gazing at the ocean waves from this incredible vantage point! The Gantt Rant Resort was designed with family comfort, cleanliness, and convenience in mind.

We loved staying here! Amber was a wonderful host! The house was clean , bright and very welcoming! We loved the amazing ocean views while sitting on the incredible deck! The dolphins entertained us each day while we sat on the beach We made many wonderful memories here!

Let me start by saying Amber was a great host and allowed us to check in early and was very responsive. What you are paying for with this rental is the location and outdoor space. The porch, outdoor shower, beach accessories/toys, and direct beach access are all great amenities and make the property great. However, the property was very dirty and it tainted the entire stay. When we first got there the smell was so bad we had to air the place out. It seemed as though someone had smoked (even though its a non smoking property) and was trying to cover it up with a ton of cheap air fresheners that just made it worse. The area rugs in each bedroom were so dirty we just rolled them up and put them in the closets because it was gross to look at them. We had to vacuum the main couch upon arrival because it was covered in pet hair (even though no pets are allowed). Most of the sheets and towels had stains and should be replaced. There were multiple areas with a build up of dead gnats that hadn’t been cleaned. Overall was just a huge bummer with a house that had a lot of potential.

Wow! What a view! Family consisted of 4 generations. Ages ranged from 9 months to 90 years! The view was spectacular!Owner was very responsive with questions as we were preparing for the week as well as an unforeseen issue with the Airconditioning. Response was very quick! Thank you!

Great oceanfront house

Our large family enjoyed our vacation at this home. The location was perfect. The beach was not too busy and the home is steps from the sand. The oceanfront deck was great with plenty of seating and there was a constant breeze in the heat - we spent a lot of time out there! The kitchen was small but well stocked with supplies (with the exception of a pizza cutter). There was an ice maker on the counter that we used all week and loved! There was shampoo/conditioner, detergent, trash bags, etc. The outdoor shed was full of beach toys, beach chairs, umbrellas, and a Shibumi! The beds and pillows were some of the most comfortable we have had in a vacation home. The AC kept up with the heat, and the house was always cool. The four bedrooms on the main floor shared two bathrooms - the master bedroom was Jack and Jill style with another bedroom. The downstairs rooms were separate from the main floor, with a separate entrance. The refrigerator in the downstairs did not seem to cool well. We accidentally brought a TV remote home and the host was very understanding, and communicated quickly with us. Overall, we had a great vacation! The house suited our needs and we all agree we would stay here again!

Wonderful Week at the Beach

What a comfortable house in a great location. The beach is literally 65 steps from the house. Such an easy walk back to the house to grab snacks. No need to haul it all in the morning. Also, the large deck with comfortable furniture was delightful. The house is really well equipped with everything you need. At other rentals, we have had to purchase Baggies, plastic wrap, foil, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, etc upon arrival. This house has it all! The Pack and Play crib was in great shape. There are puzzles and games. The closet with beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, sand toys was clean and brimming with supplies. There was even a Shibumi which we had to rent on our vacation last year. The only complaint I would mention is the temperature differential between the bedroom facing the ocean and the bedrooms facing the street. Overall, we give this house a 5 star rating.

Gantt Rant review

Great location-easy access to beach. Nice outdoor space. House is reportedly totally renovated. However, bathrooms need updating. We had to use the downstairs bedroom which is dark and dingy. It is also awkward to use the laundry with folks staying in that space. I would not use as a fifth bedroom again.

Great Family Vacation!

This was our first family vacation since our children are all grown with children of their own. There were 11 of us and we were quite comfortable. If just walking down your stairs and feeling the sand beneath your feet, or sitting on a spacious deck looking out into the ocean is your idea of a great location, this house is for you! We had a minor issue that the host took care of right away. Even before we arrived, I sent several messages to Amber and she responded very quickly. This was my first experience with VRBO and it was wonderful. The whole process was very easy. We would love to go back to this house next year.

Can't beat the view!

Great family stay here last week! The large deck with all sorts of comfortable seating and the proximity to the ocean (very short walk and excellent ocean view) make this house great. It slept 9 of us comfortably, and though the living area is small, with the deck to spill out into--and the beach steps away--it felt large enough for us. Amber was a very kind and responsive host and quickly addressed issues (e.g., grill that didn't work and tripped breaker in the kitchen). It was also nice that the upstairs was recently partially remodeled. The downstairs is still a little rough, but no more than other beach houses we've rented in the past. Overall, we had a great stay and would love to stay here again if we venture back to OIB.

Great Place!

Everything was wonderful from booking to checkout. Location and beach access was perfect. Not close to public beach access so not crowded. House was small (which we knew)but accommodating for 13 of us. Oceanfront deck was one of the best I saw on the island. Very large, open, and good mix of sun and shade. Plenty of comfortable seating. Host was great. Highly recommend!

Awesome deck

We spent most of our time on that amazing deck overlooking the beach and enjoying the breeze. It made the stay special. The kitchen and indoor spaces did not offer the same kind of quality or roominess, but overall, the deck made the week a great one.

Beautiful Vacation Home!

This home was a beautiful vacation rental! We slept 9 of us comfortably. The house was clean, bright and stocked with all of the essentials! We couldnt have asked for more beautiful ocean views morning to night! Whether sitting in the house, on the deck or in the sand...this place delivers! We loved the easy access to an outdoor shower so tons of sand wouldnt follow us up. We were close enough to groceries and other fun shopping. Restaurants in plenty short drive away. I cant say enough good things about this place!

Great deck, great host

The deck and proximity to the beach is fantastic. The host, Amber, was great at communicating and was able to quickly resolve any questions we had. The house is older but is well maintained. Our group consisted of 6 adults and 5 kids and there was adequate room for all of us.

Beach ready!

This house is great for families! It has everything!! Beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, boogie boards, even had a skim board my grandson liked so well he bought his own while we were there. The kitchen is furnished with EVERYTHING! Im used to a little more living space indoor, but the porch made up for that. There is always shade in some parts or sun if you want it. It was great to sit out there. One bedroom was on the bottom with a full-size bed and a set of bunk beds which worked perfect for my son and his boys. This house worked very well for our family and kids. I like the location because the beach (at least when we were there, first week in Aug) wasn’t terribly crowded

Great location!

This property is exactly what I want in a beach rental. The hugh deck is amazing. It has comfy seating in and out of the sun. Great beach that doesn’t get as crowded as other areas. The hostess Amber was always available for any questions that came up. Super nice to work with. The teenagers enjoyed the downstairs lodging. Although we brought umbrellas and chairs, the downstairs was stocked with all that and lots of beach toys. The kitchen had everything we needed for preparing large meals. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Great Beach House

We really enjoyed our first all family vacation at this property!!!! It was so great having the beach access right out our back door. The home was well maintained and the owner was so easy to work with. We would definitely stay here again if we get back to Ocen Isle.
