«Staying at a bed and breakfast is a lot different than your usual hotel stay. It’s more interactive and personal. The hosts at this place get it right. They are genuinely nice and interesting people whom I enjoyed hanging out with for awhile. The house was gorgeous and comfortable. «We wanted to try some place new for a romantic weekend and Farmers Guest House was perfect! Our room, The Charlotte, was warm and comfortable for relaxation. The breakfast that was made fresh every morning was by far the best we have ever had. The little extras like wine time with cheese and crackers made the weekend even better. We are already planning on going back. If I could have given this a 10 star review, I would have! You will not regret spending time at the Farmers Guest House!!»

«We had a great stay for a little family retreat in off-season Galena. By renting both suites, we essentially had the house to ourself (less the kitchen proper) which was a wonderful surprise (and pleasant when traveling with kids!) Breakfast was wonderful both days and Kate did an amazing job of giving instruction and making sure we had everything that we needed.»

«Chris and Resa run a wonderful B&B! The house itself is beautiful, and if you like seeing original architectural details of historic buildings, this is the place for you. Breakfast was delicious, and it was hard to pick what our favorite meal was. After a day of shopping on Main Street, it was nice to come back to the house for a charcuterie plate and cookies (both different every day!) and wine. My favorite touch was a homemade brownie waiting for us when we checked into our room - delicious!»

«The Tiskilwa Inn is nicely restored mansion originally built in 1848. It has 5 guest rooms, all recently refurbished in the finest style. Our first night we were the only guests so it felt like our own private stately home. I want to go back so I can stay in each of the other four rooms.»

My only wish was for an AC unit in the living room, as it is a bit warm being on the second floor, but he did have a fan. Which did help. Thanks for opening up your home to us.»

«One of two houses for an annual friends’ getogether. All amenities and features were as advertised. The bedrooms and en suites were clean and comfortable. The living area was attractive and welcoming. This was definitely a great choice for us.»

«My adult son and I try to take a a small-scale road trip together every Spring. This past week, we built so many new memories, in great part due to this wonderful property. It’s super-clean, with character and an historical ambience. We found so much to do in the Galena area, including nearby towns and the Galena River Trail. Coming “home” each evening to this cozy place was a comforting feeling after each very active day. My son, who has a developmental disability due to childhood stroke, ...
