This two-storey former fisherman's cottage is built into the old sea wall on Porth Beach, on the rugged North Cornwall coast between Newquay (1.5 miles) and Watergate Bay (2 miles). Well suited to couples and families seeking a beach holiday, the cottage sits just beyond the sand. Porth is a large west-facing sandy beach sheltered by headlands on either side, with streams, rock pools, and caves running along its edges. Children and adventurers of all ages can spend hours exploring the shoreline, building sandcastles, or scrambling over the rocks. A narrow wooden footbridge leads across to Porth Island, a headland steeped in history where a blowhole sends rainbow sprays of water skyward at mid-tide. The coast path connects to Lusty Glaze Beach (1 mile) in one direction and Watergate Bay (5 miles) in the other, while the rolling cliffs of Mawgan Porth stretch further along the coastline (4 miles).


The living room opens directly onto views of the beach and sea, furnished with a comfortable sofa and chairs, an open fire, a TV, and a Bluetooth speaker. The dining area sits alongside, with an oak table and chairs framed by beach views. Beyond, a spacious kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering stays. Stairs rise from the ground floor to a sun porch on the first floor, where wide beach and sea views make this a particularly inviting spot to unwind. The king-size bedroom, also on the first floor, has chairs set in a bay window overlooking the sea. Both the twin bedroom and the family bathroom are accessed through the double bedroom, so guests in the twin room will need to pass through.


A small, secluded courtyard sits beside the beach, furnished with seating and offering sea views – a sheltered spot for al fresco dining. Private parking is available for one car.
