A lovely B B with central location. Beautiful sea front walk only 5min walk from property. Owner Nisha kind and welcoming. Will be staying here again on my next visit to South Shields.

Originally booked on another site that said breakfast was available but I cancelled due to finding a cheaper offer and I'm so glad I did as it turns out they do not supply breakfast so I was almost robbed. The stay was lovely bar the people staying upstairs that sounded like a herd of elephants and went to the toilet every 20 minutes till nearly 3am so all you could hear was bang, bang, bang, flush all night. I like that there is no curfew and we were able to have late night out Friday but we made the effort to be as quiet as possible unlike others staying there slamming doors and stomping up and down the stairs. Id likely stay again but maybe not on a weekend if I'm going to lose so much sleep

Immaculate property which was spotless inside. As a woman travelling alone I felt safe, everything I needed was within walking distance plus parking is free outside the guest house. Great restaurants across the road. My room was spotless tastefully decorated with everything I needed I slept so well I left later than intended. Would definitely recommend staying, I’ll definitely stay again.

Lovely guest house, great location close to everything but very quiet. Quality bedding and furniture too. One of the nicest guesthouse’s we have stayed in (and I’ve stayed in lots) definitely recommend this place.

South Shields Gem
Excellent stay at this, brilliant Guest House. The cleanliness, was of the highest order. The beds & bedding, also , were of good quality, & very comfortable. The décor, was, modern,& stylish. Everything needed, for a comfortable stay. We would definitely recommend, this little Gem, to anyone, thinking of visiting South Shields.

Lovely B&B and friendly owners, although due to the current situation we didn't see much of them. Exceptionally clean and comfortable, with a good shower (always a priority for us). Good location for access to the town centre and sea front. We would definitely stay again.

I was in room 2 which was a single room but it was clean, well maintained and exceptionally comfortable. It was airy given its size but the window came with a blackout blind. I would definitely stay here again. I didn't meet the owners but communication was excellent and they spoke to me on the telephone to ensure that everything was satisfactory.

Fab location - easy access to the beach (wonderful!) The ferry, and the high street. Lovely friendly hosts, and a comfy, quiet room. Just what i needed. Be warned, the steps up to the front door are quite high!

Fabulous stay
We really enjoyed our two night stay at the Elmswood. The rooms were very clean, freshly decorated and the furnishings were lovely. It was like staying at the Ritz. Nisha, the owner, was lovely, friendly and very welcoming. She even helped us with our suitcases and upgraded one of our rooms, which was great. It was like a home from home. Breakfast was really nice too. We will definitely be staying here again and highly recommend it. It’s the best guest house we’ve ever stayed in.

Disappointed
Would have scored much more for this property has it not been for the fact the room was not serviced during our stay. I have only had to make my own bed once in any hotel I have stayed in and this was due to the fob being left at "do not disturb" by mistake. Very surprising and very disappointing.

Nice little B&B in a good location. Very clean, you don't see any staff until the breakfast time but collect your key from a box; details for which are sent to you the day before your check in.

The Guest house is located 2 minutes walk from the local town and 2 minute walk to the beach in the other direction, The room was clean and tidy and had to be one on the best breakfast i have eaten at any hotel, Kris was very friendly and the overall experience was lovely, will be returning soon

Lovely small property, ideal for the beach or just visiting like in our case a friends birthday party in s Shields. Landlady a bubbly Sara Millican ! ...well thats a southerners viewpoint I suppose. Clean and tidy, only issue was light bulb over the sink needed changing. Will definitely use again if we are up that way.

Little Slice Of Perfection
Small room but nice and cozy if travelling alone. Location was great as only a few minuets walk from a wide range of shops, food places and bars also metro station nearby for travel in Newcastle. I will certainly stay here again as loved every aspect of my stay. Only downside would have been nice to get a more personal welcome from the owners making check in less cold and more inviting but still wouldn't put me off coming back.

Firstly, the email address is my husband's and the booking was made for me (Mary) and my friend (Melanie) to stay at Elmswood Guest House, as we were going to see the Cabytu Brothers' concert in the Wolf & Clover, which is very nearby. We stayed at Elmswood a couple of years ago and liked it so much that we booked again. It's lovely, spotlessly clean accommodation and an excellent breakfast. Nisha, the landlady is so lovely and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice room with shower and sink in homely well kept B&B. Breakfast 1st class as was cheerful ladies serving me. On lovely tree lined road with free parking, and trees lit up at night.

A comfortable property in a beautiful location. Ocean Road has lots of restaurants and the general area has a lot of things to do. A very clean and comfortable guest house. I highly recommend Elmswood.
