The bathroom is H&S risk - tap has obviously been pulled of and refitted after someone had used it as an aid when struggling to get out of bath - totally understandable -kinda works but mouldy looking and ending up using shower after failing to get hot water into bath. Needs a grab rail by towel shelf? Bath far too deep! Swimming Pool had swimming lessons on arrival until 8ish in evening and was not going to reopen until 920 following morning so not able to use. Lift jamming on 3rd floor reported on morning of departure but seemed to clear - felt unable to use with confidence. Disappointed as this was a second chance for this Marriot. Deserve a refund for this stay?

Fab hotel, great ,location, room was lovely and big with 2 big king size beds in, and very spacious. Will definitely stop here again when coming up to shop at IKEA and the metro centre.

Great hotel. Lovely facilities with brilliant staff. Downside - to close to some wonderful shops so cost three x what it should have with the shopping done😉 A definite place to stay.

Lovely room and bed very comfortable. I hadn't realised there was a pool so can't comment on that but it looked very clean and quiet. Very close to metro centre so ideal if that's what you are there for. Taxi to Quayside cost around £14 one way

The hotel feels quite dated but it comes with nice facilities. The staff were super friendly but the room unfortunately was not feel clean. There were someone's earphones left in plain view along with a used cotton bud. We were put in a family room but the doors did not open very wide and we really struggled with getting the pram in and out. There's no pedestrian access and we were forced onto the roads with two young children which did not feel safe especially after dark.

Good all round.
Nice hotel in a good location for the Metrocentre and for trains into Newcastle. There are also lots of food outlets close by and the kids enjoyed the swimming pool.

Room was nice and clean ,a good size for a family of 3 .Beds were comfortable and the lined curtains made the room nice and dark to sleep . Room was nice and quiet and was not aware of any noise through the night .The breakfast was very good and a good selection .Tried the pool and steam room which were good Over all a good stay ,on the Saturday night we walked over to the metro centre which took 5 minutes ish where there is a good selection of places to eat and a couple of bars

The staff were very helpful. The room could have done with an upgrade, tatty furniture, heating not working, grubby grouting in the bathroom etc. pillows were extra soft if you like that type of thing. Breakfast was lovely.

Lovely stay - definitely recommend
We arrived around 630pm and got parked easily. Check in was quick and all staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. Our oom was clean, well stocked with toiletries etc and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast -both delicious. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone coming to the area. It's perfect if you're going to the MetroCentre. We'll definitely be back.

The hotel was easy to get to, clean, comfortable bar, quiet, near MetroCentre. The room had no instructions about the facilities in the room or in the hotel. I had to repeatedly ask reception questions that I should be able to read for myself, such as how to operate theTV which had no guide facility for the channels.

Nice hotel with friendly staff
We stopped over for one night. Check in was quick. The room was spacious. I liked having the sofa bed - as it was nice to have somewhere to sit and watch a bit of tv. I’d read that someone found the property cold while they were there. I put the air con on to cool the room down. Very close the the Metrocentre (I’d imagine if you’re looking to book here - you’d know that already). Plenty of eateries nearby. We didn’t use the restaurant in the hotel but we did use the bar for some tea and soda and the prices were cheaper than most coffee shops for the same items. If I’m down this way again - I would stay here as everything we did here felt easy - which means they’re running things well.

Absolutely worth every penny
Stayed with my fiancé for the weekend and it was absolutely amazing. We had the breakfast buffet everyday and the staff were so lovely and the menu was quite good with warm and crispy pastries. We had a busy weekend, and returning to the room it was cleaned everyday. The best part was it was so quiet both day and night. Would definitely return.

Hotel is in good condition for the age of it. The rooms are nice although they have a slightly dated feel. Our room smelled like stale smoke…so it was either an old smoking room or someone was smoking in the bathrooms and it was coming through the vents. Other than that it was decent enough.

I have stayed here many time for work purposes, the only issue I have is which ever rooms one I have stayed in the heating is always an issue plus the oil heaters just don’t cut it in cold weather conditions

Room was quite big , 2 big beds . Probably the biggest bathroom ive encountered at a hotel. Didnt eat in the hotel but used the pool and jacuzzi/steam room / sauna. Towels provided at spa . Free parking big bonus. Spotlessly clean Very close to metrocentre which is great.

Awful Breakfast - don't break your teeth
Lovely hotel, great room, although needs an refresh as parts were a little tatty. Lovely spa although busy and nowhere to sit and relax. Breakfast was very disappointing, the food was cold, the bacon and sausage were to hard to cut with my knife and the eggs were hard, nothing was fresh and no staff on hand to ask for fresh, when I complained at reception I was told that my comments would be passed on but they won't be! This response isn't acceptable a refund should be offered from such a great chain of hotel !
