First time in NYC and chose this hotel. So glad we picked it. Easy walk to Grand Central station and other points of interest. The shower was amazing and big for a hotel shower. The service was the best though. Having a door man that would flag down a taxi in the pouring down rain and hold umbrellas was wonderful. When I make it back to NYC I will for sure stay there again.

The hotel was so old. smells in rooms because age of hotel. no service room . For money I paid it didn't worth it at all. Beds were so unconfutable with lots of squeaky noise.

Beautiful property and decent size room for NYC, only gripe was cleanliness of room, used cotton buds in bathroom and windowsill, empty body wash the entire time we were there, 2 nights, and floor not clean. Had the housekeeping not let them down I would have rated it excellent as it really is a stunning hotel. Reception and concierge staff were amazing.

Overall it was a nice experience. The location was safe and convenient for our stay. We were able to get everywhere fairly easy as we were close to grand central. The only thing that could use some work is the cleanliness of the room. The floors were a little dirty in our room and the bedding looked a little dingy. However staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Excellent service at this hotel and the location could not be beat. The only complaint would be that there was an intermittent clunk sound that may have been the HVAC - we never found out- that could actually wake us up at night. Regardless, we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this hotel.

Die Unterkunft ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Das Zimmer war sauber, jedoch etwas hellhörig. Ein erholsamer Schlaf war leider nicht möglich, da der Lärm auf den Straßen 24/7 in Zimmer zuhören ist.

Personnel disponible et prévenant. Hôtel confortable situé dans un quartier historique au cachet certain et proche de la gare de Grand Central, accessible en métro et proche de la sortie de Manhattan pour les navettes/taxis. Seul petit bémol, la salle de bain un peu vieillotte mais néanmoins suffisante! Je recommande cet hôtel!

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Woche in New York. Das Hotel Westgate New York liegt zentral (5 Gehminuten zur Grand Central Station), dennoch in einer ruhigen Gegend. Nachts hört man nichts vom Verkehr. Das Hotel ist sauber und alle Mitarbeiter sind ausgesprochen freundlich und aufmerksam. Frühstück haben wir nicht gebucht, man hat jedoch die Möglichkeit, sich auf dem Zimmer einen Kaffee/Tee zuzubereiten. Beste Lage um die Stadt zu erkunden. 10 Gehminuten entfernt befindet sich sogar der Fähranleger, mit dem man ebenfalls sehr gut angebunden ist. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Reserved four rooms for three nights. For whatever reason, my room was a dungeon. Nothing worked, bathroom flooded, shoehorn required to get into desk chair pressed against bed, no electrical outlets, rude check-in, TV broken, windows all looked out over construction materials and workers that filed past my bedroom all day. Couldn't have been a worse experience. Fortunately, my colleagues had nice rooms, but they literally put me in the dumpster. Manager was very apologetic and said they never put anyone in my room unless they are booked up -- nevertheless I paid top dollar (same as my colleagues) for a room just south of habitable.

The staff was friendly and welcoming. They provided outstanding customer services and were so helpful getting cabs and helping us navigate subway routes. Absolutely amazing experience. I will stay here again.

I paid for a comfortable room and they gave me one that had a door that connected to the room next door, and you could hear all the noise that the people there made, so much so that we only spent 5 hours in the place and checked out.

This was 1 of the best hotels we’ve stayed at in New York. It’s just far enough away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to walk to if you want some action. The rooms were spacious considering how small some of the rooms can be in New York hotels. We had three people and actually, the bedroom was completely separate from the living area where the pullout couch was for the third person so we all had privacy! I highly recommend this place, not to mention the staff were wonderful! We were treated like royalty!

Every staff member was so nice and helpful. The room was big! Elevators were a little noisy if your room is close to them. I would stay here again.
