Cozy custom-built Cabin - Lakeside

Enjoy our romantic treehouse nestled on a one hundred acre farm at Whispering Pines for a secluded get-away for couples. With all our friends in mind, entry is effortless with our ramp cement walkway and plenty of space for wheelchair and/or special needs access.

Upon entry, you will be amazed by the natural light through the large picture windows facing a lake. The kitchen, living and bedroom areas are all open spaces that flow together seamlessly with plenty of places to sit and relax. Enjoy puzzles, games or books for relaxing days while snuggled in front of a large stone gas fireplace. The laundry room, stocked with complimentary Tide-pods, is conveniently located in the bathroom. Browse through the Guestbook to discover wineries in Hermann & Augusta as well as other local attractions all within thirty minutes. The kitchen is stocked for your cooking needs with an oven, cooktop, microwave and refrigerator in addition to a Keurig with complimentary coffee (regular and decaffeinated), tea or hot chocolate.

While outside, you will love the stunning view of the lake and mature trees along with the peaceful sounds of nature. Turn on the string lights and soak in the hot tube while facing the lake for a relaxing evening. Feel free to hike on our private trails and enjoy all this beautiful property has to offer. Look for colored blazes to guide you on your path. Benches are placed in open areas to enjoy your surroundings. Outdoor games are conveniently located near the hot tub or spend the afternoon lounging in the hammock. Cook dinner on the propane grill for your BBQ needs or enjoy s’mores at the custom-built fire pit with our complimentary firewood. S’more kits are provided and are a must for every campfire.

Our farm is nestled between the cities of Hermann and Jonesburg where you can enjoy wineries and other seasonal attractions. Indian Camp Creek Park, Little Lost Creek Conservation Area, the Daniel Boone Conservation Area and the Katy Trail are located nearby for the outdoor lovers.

There is limited cellphone service, no Wifi or television at Whispering Pines with the intention to allow our guests to relax and reconnect with nature. We strive to provide all your needs during your stay.

This is the perfect location for your proposal, honeymoon or birthday celebration.

Beautiful location. There is just enough cell service to send an occasional text and make a phone call if you step outside (att). The water pressure was disappointing after seeing the dual shower heads in the photos but the unlimited hot water allowed us to opt for several relaxing baths instead. My wife loved all the nature and animals. This is a perfect spot for resetting and relaxing. We used the complimentary s'mores and Keurig machine.

My husband and I really enjoyed this break from our day to day. We spent two days in Hermann enjoying the wineries, restaurants, and boutiques. And the last day we stayed at the cabin and took walks, sat by the fire, and spent time in the hot tub. The kitchen was well stocked so we didn’t have to leave, as we brought meals for us to cook this one day. Super clean, nice property, worth the drive and investment! Thank you for having us!

Perfect weekend retreat!

Perfect Cozy Getaway

My husband and I felt the need for a last-minute weekend getaway, and this was exactly the right place for us! The decor and design create the ideal woodsy but comfortable mood, and the hosts seem to have thought of everything. I don't know if we've ever been to a place that could match it in level of thought put into the place! The fireplace is gas and was so easy to switch on and off as needed, and we snuggled up by the picture window and fireplace often, playing games or reading books or just chatting while sipping coffee. We saw deer and eagles and several littler birds. The hot tub was clean and so relaxing; everything worked great, and I love the string lights around it. The hosts provided all of the things we needed for the fire pit as well, including s'mores, and we could see a lot of stars from the peacefully isolated location. We also enjoyed the trail more than once and would definitely recommend it. Good things to note as you prepare: there is a blackout curtain for the large window, even though we could not tell that from the pictures. That was very helpful! Also, as I am someone who wants to know what the bed will feel like at a place, it's a nice spacious king with comfortable bedding and a mattress that is on the firm side. Overall, we could hardly have enjoyed this stay more! It was so wonderful to reconnect in this setting. We loved all of the luxurious details and felt so pampered just by being there! Thank you to the hosts for thinking of everything!

Perfect!

We chose to stay here as I was bringing my husband down to see Hermann. I was in Hermann several weeks ago for a girls trip and decided to come back for a weekend alone together. We had hot chocolate and scones at Espresso Laine, ate at Doxie slush, Tin Mill, and 4th street pizza, all were excellent! Stone Hill is a must visit. Do the cellar tour and a tasting!! Just a heads up there is no wifi or tv at the cottage which was fine but might not be for everyone. Very little service with ATT so just something to be aware of. We played Uno and loved the hot tub while it snowed! We will definitely be back, it was the quiet, slow pace weekend we were needing! Thank you for sharing such a great place! We loved it!

Blissful Stay

Whispering Pines is such a beautiful property nestled in the trees. We can’t say enough about our stay. Such fine accommodations and attention to details that really matter to guests. We found ourselves mesmerized by all of the birds visiting the feeder in our front row seats looking through the amazing wall of windows. The hot tub, couple’s shower, comfortable king sized bed and so many other details made our stay extra special. If you decide to take the short scenic drive to Hermann, stop by 4th Street Pizza for delicious pizza and then head to The Piano Bar for drinks and fun. Thank you to Wendy and the Whispering Pines team for our wonderful weekend away! Definitely adding this property to the top of our favorites list.

Simply Beautiful

Everything about our stay was just wonderful. The cabin was so nice and clean, and my wife fell in love with the hot tub under the stars. Our hosts were so nice and very responsive to our questions. Needless to say, we will be back and we will tell all our friends and family to book a visit too!

Secluded Getaway

This cabin was the perfect getaway for us. It’s near St Louis, but far enough to be quiet and secluded. The cabin was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. We will definitely be using this place for a future getaway.

No Words

It’s hard to find the words to describe the week my partner and I spent here. For the last 6 years we take an annual getaway to disconnect from the busyness of life and reconnect with nature and ourselves. Out of all these getaways, Wendy’s cabin provided the best respite. It is nearly sound proof…so much do that we could see a truck driving on the gravel road but could not hear it. We saw so many birds, turtles, and frogs!! The hiking trail was phenomenal…it was so great not to have to drive somewhere to hike. We relaxed in the hot tub daily and enjoyed the fire pit nightly. The cedar logs provided by the hosts were a treat as they made the fire smell wonderful! The amount of rest, relaxation, and restoration this cabin provided was beyond our expectations. Thank you to our wonderful hosts for creating and sharing an opportunity to recharge in a beautiful environment! I look forward to coming back!
