«I booked two rooms as a last minute stay. Immediately on bookimg I had two phone calls that I missed as I was in my way to the accommodation. I then received a text message to tell me they could not accommodate my booking and to cancel. I was adviced by Expedia not to cancel as this would be against the cancellation policy - I am still trying to get a refund and will probably have to esculate the process»

«The hotel is in need of an overhaul, it’s really tired, dated and poor quality. The first room I was put in was dreadful, tiny, grotty and not a reflection of any of the pictures on the website. Breakfast was a disaster, a chef that can’t cook, poached/scramble eggs and burns toast, doesn’t inspire. Seemed really short on staff and grumpy when you did find them. Heard several other guests complaining too. Great location but that’s the only positive.»

«We stayed for 2 nights and were very impressed with the overall look of the place but we had booked a suite which the room was not as en-suite was like a broom cupboard. Breakfasts were fantastic and coffe excellent but need to offer other meals such as dinner or afternoon teas which could be quite lucrative for them. Wal was always there for you and offered us one of their fans as hot during our stay and this was very much appreciated by my wife and I. Would book again no problem.»

«First impression on arrival, front of house could do with some maintenance (weeding). Suite 5*Tap in bathroom had soap marks and hair shavings. Pillows were too hard and mattress was uncomfortable, could feel the springs with every movement we made. Website said city view, but this wasn’t the case,(disappointed). On a positive note, service was good overall. Would stay there again if mattress was more comfy.»

«We stayed two nights at Pickmere guest house, and it was very enjoyable. The house itself is beautiful and rustic, and the room we got was spacious and tastefully furnished. Beds absolutely fantastic. Breakfast was very good with locally sourced ingredients, plenty of coffee and a quiet atmosphere. The owners were very helpful and friendly. Pickmere is kind of in the middle of nowhere, so you need navigation as he roads are not too well marked. It´s close to Knudsford, and a trip there is highly ...
