The cottage brings together stylish, well-furnished interiors and a warm, characterful living space centred on a cosy log burner, alongside a private flower-filled garden that wraps around the exterior. With the town centre and train station both reachable on foot in around ten minutes, it makes an ideal base for couples, dog owners, and anyone looking to explore this well-regarded historic market town and the wider Northumberland countryside.

    What makes Station Cottage particularly special is the combination of comfort, convenience, and character it offers in one thoughtfully designed space. Arriving is effortless — self check-in is via a lockbox and all instructions are sent ahead of arrival. Inside, the log burner creates an immediate sense of warmth and cosiness, the bathroom is a highlight with its freestanding bath and separate walk-in shower, and the private garden provides a real sense of seclusion. Whether you are curled up by the fire with a book from the small bookshelf, watching a film on the Smart TV, or simply enjoying a glass of wine together at the end of a day exploring, the living space at Station Cottage is designed for genuine relaxation.

    Outside, the private garden adds a further dimension to the stay. The patio, with its outdoor dining table, chairs, and parasol alongside the brick exterior wall — dressed in colourful hanging baskets of red geraniums — is a lovely spot for morning coffee or an evening meal in the warmer months. A garden path bordered by tall flowering plants and established shrubs leads through to the lawned area, creating a peaceful and private outdoor space.     Station Cottage is a single-storey property, with everything conveniently on one level throughout.

    Living room and dining area
    The spacious living room features two red leather sofas, a log burner with a log basket, a patterned rug on a wooden floor, framed pictures on the walls, and a Smart TV. A small wooden dining table and two chairs sit alongside, with a bookshelf stocked with books and a window looking out onto the garden. Central heating ensures the cottage stays warm and comfortable year-round, and an Ethernet connection is available in addition to WiFi for those who need a reliable connection.

    Kitchen
    The kitchen is fitted with white units, dark wood worktops, and a distinctive retro-style fridge-freezer, giving it real individual character. It is fully equipped with a built-in oven and hob, extractor hood, microwave, toaster, hot water kettle, crockery, pans, and utensils. Complimentary tea, coffee, and sugar are provided on arrival alongside wine glasses. Cleaning products are also available for guest use throughout the stay.

    Bedroom
    The double bedroom is stylishly presented with a wooden rattan headboard, grey-toned bedding, elephant-print cushions, a bedside table, and a blackout blind for a comfortable night`s sleep. A freestanding wall mirror, a wooden chair, and clothing storage including hangers complete the room. Extra pillows and blankets are provided.

    Bathroom
    The large en-suite bathroom is a genuine highlight of the cottage. It features a freestanding bath, a walk-in shower enclosure, a vanity basin with storage, a WC, and a heated towel rail. The room is finished with blue-painted walls and distinctive black-and-white chequered floor tiles, giving it a stylish and characterful feel. Toiletries — including shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and shower gel — are all provided. A hair dryer is also available.

    Outdoor spaces
    Guests have exclusive use of all outdoor areas surrounding the cottage. The patio area is furnished with a table, chairs, and a parasol and sits directly alongside the exterior of the cottage, decorated with hanging baskets of red geraniums. A garden path bordered by tall flowering plants and shrubs leads through to the lawned garden area with established planting and colourful borders. A BBQ is available for guest use throughout the stay. The garden is well maintained and offers plenty of space for a dog to enjoy.

    A clothes drying rack and an iron with ironing board are available for guests to use.

    Parking
    One private gated driveway parking space is available at no charge. Please note that EV charging is not available at the property; however, there are charging stations in Morpeth town centre.

    Morpeth is a well-regarded historic market town in Northumberland, set alongside the River Wansbeck, with a strong reputation for its independent shops, cafés, and restaurants centred around the Sanderson Arcade and a traditional market square. Station Cottage sits within easy walking distance of all the town has to offer, with both the town centre and the train station approximately nine minutes on foot.

    Carlisle Park, a beautiful riverside green space, is just a short stroll from the cottage and makes a lovely spot for a morning walk. History enthusiasts will enjoy exploring the 13th-century Chantry and its Bagpipe Museum, while the town`s wider café and dining scene provides plenty of options for eating out and relaxing over a good meal. Morpeth also benefits from a direct and frequent rail link into Newcastle city centre, making a day trip to the city straightforward and easy.

    The Northumberland countryside is easily accessible from the door, with several well-established walking routes in the immediate area. The Northumberland coast — with its dramatic castles, sweeping sandy beaches, and scenic coastal walking paths — is a straightforward drive from the cottage.

    Unique railway-side charm: The property sits beside the train tracks, but there is no disruptive noise, as the regular trains are electric and very quiet. Every so often, guests may even catch sight of a beautiful old steam train passing through Morpeth, adding a special touch of local character and nostalgia to their stay.

    Booking Policy

    Full payment is due 30 days before arrival and will be automatically charged to the card on file. If payment fails, it must be completed within 24 hours or the booking will be cancelled. Early payment is allowed; card fees up to 3 percent are non-refundable if cancelled.

    Guests are not required to pay a damage deposit in advance. However, we reserve the right to charge up to two hundred pounds per stay to the card on file in the event of any damage.


    Cancellation Policy

    Full refund if cancelled 30 or more days before arrival. Fifty percent refund if cancelled fourteen to thirty days before arrival. No refund if cancelled within fourteen days of arrival.
