Admire the pretty beach huts en route to the harbour (just over 300 metres away), with gorgeous views towards Coquet Island. Explore the area on the Northumberland Coast Path, which passes through Amble and on to the pretty village of Warkworth, 1.5 miles away, where the castle and hermitage preside over the River Coquet. Visit the ever-popular fishing village of Seahouses (21 miles away) to try the excellent local seafood or Alnwick, just 9 miles away, is a must-see, with a magnificent castle which was the backdrop to two of the first Harry Potter movies and also featured in Downton Abbey. There are also regular markets and lovely shops.
