Stort hus på rolig sted
Vi var kjempefornøyd med huset og alle soverommene. Det var 3 spiseplasser med plass til alle. Bassenget var perfekt, og vi badet hele dager. 6 solsenger var det også, og en koselig og rolig hage. Vi kommer helt sikkert tilbake, for dette var et flott sted.

Flott feriebolig
Vi var 12 store og små som bodde i Villa Pilar i 10 dager. Flott hus, fin beliggenhet, men man er avhengig av bil. Fint med inngjerdet bassengområde. Haven med huske, klatrestativ og bordtennisbord ga ett ekstra pluss til ferien. Steven (forvalteren) var behjelpelig med å skaffe transport fra/til flyplassen og stilte opp når vi ankom midt på natten.Han var også innom og renset bassenget under oppholdet. Supert sted for en stor familie

Prima verblijf
Vooraf al goed contact met de eigenaar via whatsapp. Door een vertraging van onze vlucht kwamen we pas laat in de avond aan, maar dat was geen probleem. Stephen was aanwezig en legde alles duidelijk uit. Het huis en de inboedel zijn niet nieuw, maar alles was schoon en echt prima voor een paar dagen. Van alles (borden, bestek, linnengoed) was voldoende voor grote groepen. Zwembad was schoon en mooi verlicht in de avond. Pingpongtafel werd ook gewaardeerd. Je hebt wel een (huur)auto nodig om plaatsen in de omgeving te bezoeken. Zou zomaar kunnen dat we volgende keer hier weer naartoe gaan.

Lovely villa
The villa was clean and well presented. The host met us on arrival and explained how everything worked, he arranged pick up from the airport and a shopping stop for us. Plenty of space and privacy, with both kitchens well equipped with everything we needed. The washing machine was a plus, meaning hardly any washing was brought back. The pool was a big bonus and was used constantly throughout the day and evening, and the host visited during the week to maintain it. The gardens were well maintained, the bbq used and the outside leisure space in constant use. The only downside to the property was perhaps the location and I would definitely recommend a car to visit the surrounding areas especially in the height of seasons when temperatures are high and walking is not possible. Also a welcome pack would be useful, with bus times, taxi numbers and perhaps a map of the area with restaurant locations and owing times etc. overall I would recommend this property, a well deserved break was enjoyed by all.

Adult and children rental
This property was exactly what we expected. Lovely villa with great outdoor space which we needed with 4 young children. Having the downstairs kitchen by the pool was a plus, we had our lunch and some dinners out there. Upstairs living room with aircon worked well when hot in the afternoons, for a break from the heat. Play area in the garden was a massive hit with the kids and kept them occupied. We will be referring to friends and family. We would also like to rebook in the future. Many Thanks Stephen and family!

Great holiday shame about the villa
Stunning location & views however disappointing that the villa was tired old and needed a good clean ! Basic items what you would expect to find when self catering were not their I.e toilet paper,cleaning products & bin bags. Only 2 tea towels for the whole 10 days with 2 kitchens and 13 people this wasn't suffice. Ground floor is where we all spent most of the time however initially was set up for 5 people to sleep in 2 of which were in the open plan "kitchen" area. This area got really hot and sticky and no air con, states on advert coolest area however was so hot & riddled with mosquitos. Pool chemicals made 2 of our party come out in rashes everytime they used one of which was our 2 year old daughter who never entered the pool after day 2 due to being ill with sore legs and having to buy special creams to settle her skin. We asked Stephen if the pool had been tested but was told it was all fine however he could have offered to do again in my opinion. The photos on the advert do not reflect the villa in its current state. Alot of the furniture is different in particular the sunbeds which were really old and dirty and only 6 of them for a villa that is supposed to sleep 14? The downstairs kitchen where we spent most of our time because it was the level where the pool was had no equipment in any of the cupboards we had to bring from upstairs and wash before use as they were all dirty. Downstairs patio door and window doesn’t lock. Aircon drips water onto outer steps, slippy!

We are sorry this guest choose to leave this review. We did everything to be helpful before there stay, allowed them to arrive 4.5 hours early and were even receiving messages at 2:30 am during there stay. The house is professionally cleaned. We supply clean dish clothes and new spounges and wipe down pads. There is one plastic container hidden under the down stairs sink that a cloth and scrubber for cleaning the bbq. The sun loungers are the high quality type as used on Spain beaches and are in good working order and cleaned after every visit.

Fantastic property, location and communications!
We, a family of 4 from the UK, had a fantastic time in Stephen’s Villa Pilar. The initial communication and booking process was really easy with the villa offering great value for money and easy access to the villa through a key box. The villa is located in the low hills just outside Fuengirola, with great views over a substantial rural grassy area, then Fuengirola itself and then the sea! Fuengirola is only about 2 miles and 5 minutes away from the villa. The villa itself is set in a substantial plot in a quiet cul de sac, with parking out the front and a large, south-east facing, grassed rear area, with a decent sized pool, terrace, eating area, and a climbing frame/swings for younger kids. Set on three levels, entrance to the villa from the street comes into the middle floor, comprising an entrance hall, good, functional kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. On the top floor are two other bedrooms, with the master suite having a lovely, substantial patio balcony – perfect for morning teas in the sun! The bottom floor is pretty open plan, with a second kitchen, laundry room, lounge area and fourth bedroom. We just used this area to do the washing and as access to the rear garden, which has a large outdoor eating area with table and chairs. The villa was clean, tidy and well equipped. The location for us was just perfect. Far enough off the beaten track to be rural but only minutes from Fuengirola (5), Marbella (25), and Malaga (30). There are numerous good restaurants within a 10 to 12 minute drive – we liked Casa Juan Y Mari and La Gamba Torrenueva (both in Las Lagunas de Mijas) and Bad Ass Bistro in Fuengirola. Additionally, there are so many beaches to choose from, plus the Castillo Sohail (castle) to explore as well as the lovely, historic centres of Fuengirola and Marbella. And shopping-wise, there is a huge shopping mall with all of the major brands and a large Carrefour on the way into Fuengirola. So, all in all, Villa Pilar was awesome – we will return to it, and we’d highly recommend it to anyone else.

Overall we had not have a good time at the house. The owner claimed the piping system had a problem and he was in the middle of fixing and the last visitor had no issues regarding water but unfortunately the water pressure was so low that we even could not flash the toilet or even wash our face in the morning. The towels were so old and smelled so bad. The beds were squeaky and loose. The owner didn’t provide enough toilet paper. We ask him and he said “this is it”. So I won’t recommend this place at all.

There was a water leak from road that was being fixed by the insurance so pressure was lower than usual but showers and toilets worked 100%. We supply new toilet rolls for each bathroom also Soap.

Very good, spacious, clean, ideal for our needs. We only had a water issue with leaks. To resolve we just had to turn off at the mains when not in use, and then back on when needed. Owner was trying to resolve through the insurance company, perhaps should of dealt directly with the tradersmen?

Wedding Anniversary with family and friends
Stephen was an excellent host. He was at the villa to show us around and give us information about the area. We had a contact for him should there be anything we required, or had to ask. The villa was very clean and comfortable and garden and pool excellent We were on a family holiday to celebrate our 25 wedding anniversary, with our family from Canada and from the UK. Our grandchildren from Canada really enjoyed the pool and the rest of the family enjoyed the private area of the villa while enjoying the views and breeze from the balcony. The area was also close enough not to have to travel too far for activities which we wanted to do with the children (8&10) There was 6 adults and 2 children there most of the time with 2 friends who are residents of Spain join us for a couple of days to celebrated our anniversary. We ate at the golf club near our villa and had a lovely meal. The villa itself was well enough equipped with crockery, cutlery, glasses and cups for us all. Maybe not so well equipped for large meal cooking, but we ate out a lot. We just had to message Stephen if we required fresh linen or towels and he dropped them off. Without disturbing us. As my husband and I were there for 3 weeks, the others 2 weeks, Stephen was the to check over the pool twice and would have been doing the same the day we left. There was construction going ahead on the villa next to us and although we could hear some disturbance it was not before 8.30 and not after 3pm and definitely not at the weekend. Therefore it was not a problem to us. Also on our second last day our water was cut off at around 10.30am, we discovered it was a burst pipe in our area, contacted Stephen who apologised and got on to the water company straight away and kept us informed of what was happening. Luckily it was only off for a couple of hours. Overall I cannot fault the villa and especially the host Stephen. I would highly recommend Villa Pilar

Good family holiday location.
Communication with Stephen was very good beforehand and during our stay and he provided a lot of information prior to travel about the local area, local supermarkets, restaurants etc. The location of the property is good for people wanting a bit of peace and quiet but still only a short drive into town. I’d think a car is necessary if you plan to go out to restaurants, shops, parks etc. Ubers do operate in and around Fuengirola but don’t seem that keen leaving the town at busy times so you may have a wait. Different members of the family used them on a few occasions and usually cost less than €10. Although we had a very good time the villa was a wee bit disappointing. This was due mainly by the standard of some of the furniture, bedding, towels. We expected better for the money paid. We have holidayed in villas before and as it’s a family villa you normally would have a range of pool/garden toys for kids. However there was not a noodle or bucket and spade to be seen. For anyone with a bigger group who need to use the downstairs bedrooms, these do not have a/c. We were aware of this and we were fine as the temps were no higher than mid 20s but would be uncomfortable in mid summer.

Fabulous villa.....
Spent a week in this lovely villa, 10 of us in total which included 4 very young children.. everything about it was spot on. We spent all our time on the ground floor playing table tennis and swimming in the pool. And having bbq's. The kids loved it, Mijas was lovely a short ride by taxi to the beach. A couple of local friendly bars and a well equipped mini supermarket nearby. We spent most of the time in the villa as it was very homely and well equipped. Stephen the owner was so helpful, he showed us around and gave us lots of directions for places and things to do...would definitely visit again

Grupo con niños.
Nos alojamos un grupo de amigos con hijos (edades comprendidas entre 1 y 7 años). De nuestra estancia en la villa, destacamos su piscina (el hecho de que estuviera vallada terminó de convencernos, por la seguridad de los peques) , las cenas en el jardín (ojo con los mosquitos, es conveniente llevar repelentes) , la barbacoa... La casa es grande y hay aire acondicionado en todas las estancias, salvo en el piso de abajo, aunque allí no se suele concentrar tanto calor... La comunicación con el propietario fue muy buena y fluida desde el primer momento. En definitiva, una buena elección, sobre todo en tiempos del Covid-19, para no salir a penas de la casa, donde tuvimos todo lo que necesitabamos para disfrutar de una semana de vacaciones.

Fantastic villa!
We were a family group of 8, with three young children. The villa lived up to all expectations. Stephen met us and showed us round. The pool was used every day, despite it being late October! Nearby restaurant and well stocked mini-supermarket. Close to everything. Great mountain and sea views.

Stephen wear great host, communication and flexibility was fantastic. The Villa its self was perfect for my group of 12, had plenty of space. Location was a bit of a drive, 5 mins to fuengirola 10 mins to Cala but as we had transport it worked well.

Fantastic Villa with great views
11 of us holidayed in this fantastic villa with lots of space, Stephen was very accommodating with our requests and everything was perfect. Pool area was great and pool spotlessly clean. Being slightly higher up the breeze was lovely round the pool area. The local area was very nice with a little supermarket and a couple of nice bars & only a short drive or taxi ride from everything you need. Lots of golf courses close by & would recommend Calanova Golf Club. All in all a great holiday, great villa and great weather. Many thanks.

Lovely villa
Just returned from an excellent 10 days at Villa Pilar. We were a party of 9 adults and 2 children aged 7 and 2 years and the villa was perfect for us. We practically lived outside for the whole 10 days making use of the excellent garden and pool and the outside eating area with its long table and chairs that seated all of us comfortably. The children also enjoyed the swings, cabin and slide. The pool being gated gave us peace of mind with a lively 2 year old running around. The villa was extremely well equipped and Stephen the owner was very accommodating in setting up the rooms to our requirements and came to clean the pool twice during our stay which we were really impressed with. Stephen told us of a couple of local restaurants within walking distance and we used one of these several times. The Miramar shopping centre and large Carrefour supermarket was just a short cab drive away as was Fuengirola. We didn’t hire cars so relied on cabs which were on the whole fairly good but as we needed 3 sometimes it didn’t always run smoothly so something to bear in mind. Thank you Stephen for everything you did for us.

Fabulous villa and short break with friends.
What a super villa. We were a party of mature ladies celebrating 50th birthdays! Stephen the owner very friendly and left us bbq's bits, which we had on our last night. Plenty of beds and space to move about, pool and garden fabulous. Facilities great, overall a perfect place for a large family or groups. Would certainly recommend to family and friends. You do need transport but local taxis very prompt and not too expensive to the local town Fuengirola. Thank you.

Very Good villa. very Helpful owner Well worth the money
This was a family stay with 6 adults and 2 x 3-yrs old twins. The place is brilliant and we enjoyed our stay. esp. liked our private pool as the kids enjoyed swimming. Also it had gates around the pool so we did not worry if the kids were in the garden. Overall very clean. Stephen the owner addressed our concerns very quickly, even he was ok with us storing luggage in the house in the last day after our check out as we had a very late flight out of Malaga airport as well as late check out too. Thank you Stephen.

Lovely villa, had a brilliant time
12 of us went to this villa for my friends hen do and we had a great time. Villa is lovely, with plenty of space for everyone, a nice sized garden area with pool and beautiful views. We had a slight issue with the downstairs lighting and one of the beds but Stephen came to sort it within 15 minutes of me telling him. Stephen also helped order our taxis to and from the airport and was there to let us in and show us around when we arrived. A shop is very close by and a bar and cafe but most other places would require a car/taxi Would happily come again

5 Golfing Buddies on Annual Trip
Had a great time. Stephen (owner) met us at the Villa on arrival even though it was late evening. Villa was clean, spacious and set up to accommodate our Group as agreed with Stephen a couple of weeks prior to departure. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the Villa. Ideal for Families or a group of friends like ours looking for a relaxing break on the Costa del Sol

Child friendly villa
We travelled as a family of 6 adults and 4 children and this large house suited us very well. Stephen the owner was on hand if anything was required and was very helpful he kindly organised a mini bus to pick us up and drop off at the airport. One of our grandchildren is autistic so the gated pool was safe and ideal, we could relax without having to worry. Only a short 20 min drive from Malaga airport and within easy reach of Marbella where we had a great day out. A car is required but there are a couple of bars/ restaurants within walking distance of the villa. The only downside was one of the bedrooms ( downstairs) did not have air con and as it was August and very hot, my son and his wife were quite uncomfortable. All in all a great family holiday and we would be happy to return in the future.

Great, comfortable, villa close to all amenities but far enough away to have the peace and quiet
My family of 6 adults, 1 teenager, 1 toddler and 2 babies had more than enough room in this comfortable, safe villa. Being in a gated community made it even more safe. All 4 bedrooms are big with good storage space. The kitchen is well stocked but if there was a coffee maker it would make it perfect!! We had some lovely bbq's and having a downstairs second kitchen made it easier to store food instead of running up the stairs to the main kitchen. Huge table for 10 in the garden where we sat many a night eating and drinking. The pool is big and has its own safety fence around so no worries with little ones in the garden. Lots of grass and lots of room to sun bathe in the garden as well as swings and a climbing frame. The house is in a quiet area but only 10 minutes from Fuengirola. You are within walking distance of bars, cafe, shop and restaurant as well as a massive, beautiful public pool. La Cala is 10/15 minutes away with more beautiful, sandy beaches than Fuengirola with other shops, bars and restaurants. Some lovely villages to visit that are not too far away and Fuengirola has para sailing, jet skiing and so many restaurants and shops one would need a good year to try them all. About 5 minutes from the house there is also a shopping centre. We also drove to Malaga which took less than half an hour. The city is beautiful with great architectural buildings. The castle is well worth the trek up for awesome views. Also close by are water parks and a crocodile park! Bioparc (zoo) is well worth a visit even at night time! Overall the house is situated in a perfect place being close to all amenities but far enough away to have the quiet to enjoy the sun during the day and the peace at night to have undisturbed sleep.

Excellent experience
We spent 5 excellent days with our children & grandchildren. The villa is excellent for families with a child friendly private pool; we found that having en suite bathroom facilities for all made the stay much more comfortable. It also offers the opportunity with only e few minutes drive to enjoy the charm of a small village like La Cala de Mijas or the bigger town of Fuengirola in the Costa del Sol. Stephen was at hand to ensure our stay was a success.
