Excellent stay
Excellent - room was clean and spacious with usual amenities. Staff were very friendly and could not fault the great customer service. Restaurant and bar were great. Food was particularly good!

The Swan Inn is in a great location. Easily accessible. The Inn has a great atmosphere and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The food and service is very good too.

Great stay
We had a lovely stay at the swan inn. We had a kingsize bedroom with ensuite shower. The rooms are above the pub. The landlord & landlady are really friendly. The pub is very quaint as you would expect for the centre of midhurst. Breakfast was in-house on Saturday & Sunday and was delicious. Friday and Monday we had the choice of breakfast at comestibles or gartons cafe. Friday we wanted to go out early so chose a sausage sandwich and latte from comestibles and Monday we had a leisurely english breakfast at Gartons. Both we enjoyed. We ate twice in the pub restaurant and can recommend the burger and the lamb 3 ways. The other evening we ate at the Italian around the corner. We were lucky with the weather and sat on the outside seating each night, one night the local council had put an outdoor elvis tribute act and movie night on in the church square opposite the pub, which was fun. We will be staying again and have requested a booking for the same time next year.

We have stayed a few times. We are always made to feel very welcome. The staff have been brilliant. The owner is polite and well mannered to his guests and his staff. I witnessed him go out after a towns event with a bin bag and tidy up the square. This for me goes a long way in reading into someone’s character. This place is a gem and I’ll continue to use it for years to come if the service and staff maintain their attitude towards their customers.

It is "pub accommodation" not 4* hotel, no food available in the property on the days we stayed. For breakfast we had to go to a cafe 50 yds away ( ok in dry conditions). Noise from works opposite also road noise as property is enclosed on 3 sides by roads, 4th side is car parking. Entry and leaving property was directly onto a road ( no footpath.For pub accomodation it was acceptable.

Gem of a place
Arrived early and they very kindly let us check in , as we were going to goodwood races . Stayed in room 3 , very quirky , great bath , really comfortable bed , nice and clean , with a lovely view of the market square and the little touch of a bottled water was nice . Returned after races and has a few drinks in bar , which is a great bar , friendly staff and good range of drinks and food After a brilliant nights sleep we went down for breakfast . Great choice , free tea and coffee , and a really good breakfast.

Overnight stop
Cycling tour overnight stop. Room was basic clean and tidy. There was a music beat from the bar until 11:20pm but after that it was peaceful. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

A rare find - a wonderful gem.
A perfect Inn. I don’t use the term lightly. In a quiet & sleepy town is the warm and welcoming heart - The Swan. Under new management, Chloe & Ross headed a family (it’s more than a workforce or team) of caring, compassionate, and friendly souls who make this the perfect place to stay in the area. From a warm and friendly welcome at check-in through evenings spent at the bar chatting with the family, to a genuinely emotional goodbye upon check-out, and, I have never felt more welcomed. With just six rooms, each unique, it gives the hosts time to get to know those who stay. That’s how it feels, not like a cold chain hotel, but that you’re checking in to stay with friends. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and the food.. Wow. I expected a burger, fish & chips and maybe a curry on the menu. But Morgan, the Chef has gone to great lengths to curate a culinary experience to tantalise the tastebuds and when the stomach reaches its limit, the eyes and the mind will still want to carry on, such is the delight of the cooking. I’ve already booked for next year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed because after any long day out, what more could you want, but to come home to family.
Vegetarian friendly and delicious - this was just the starter.
Leaving early in the morning, I couldn’t make the inclusive breakfast at the weekend - so I awoke to this outside my door!

We were only there for one night and didn’t arrive till 6pm. Check in was easy, I was told where we could park which was a 5 min walk away. A nice large room and clean en-suite which is compact. We couldn’t have breakfast because the kitchen had a problem with its gas supply, they had arranged with a cafe opposite to do breakfast but we needed to leave before they opened. Had to post the keys through the letter box as no one was working at 8am

We had a lovely stay for 2 nights to attend a wedding at the walled garden. The staff were very friendly and helpful . It served a great breakfast .

Staff were friendly. But unfortunately i think they need to speak to the cleaning staff. Room was not cleaned, stains all behind the kettle and under the tv. Floor definitely had not been vacumed, pillows need throwing out, flannel in bathroom dirty. Take a look at the light, dust unbelievable. I would definitely stay in that room or put my head on that pillow. We got the keys, put our bags down, picked them up and walked out. How you have those reviews i never know. They certainly didnt stay in the room we were given.

Lovely spacious room with big windows. Can hear the traffic a bit but quiet after 11. Lots of cobwebs on windows which cleaner should clean before people stay. A small bottle of water left in room but which appeared to be already opened. Breakfast across the street in nearby eatery which was nice

Excellent stay
We had a great one night stay at The Swan Inn, which is right in the centre of Midhurst. We were greeted and served by Ross who was super helpful and made our stay even more pleasant and comfortable. Car parking is a very easy 2 min walk. Excellent breakfast at the cafe next door (included) - we sat out in the square soaking up the town atmosphere. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay at the Swan again and can heartily recommend it.

Super location mixed feelings about the room.
We came for a funeral and so hadn’t realised it was Goodwood week .The price we paid for the room was higher than the norm and higher than the room itself deserved we thought but we understand and don’t resent that if all is up to scratch . Hospitality needs to capitalise on what it can at present. Firstly, the staff. The person whom I presumed was the manager was fantastic. Very friendly and accommodating. The room itself was quirky which was good. Four poster bed very firm but large and comfy. Decoration a bit rough round the edges, as was the shower room with a “munchy” toilet which was noisy, shower not very powerful. The manager gave her mobile number to us and said to contact her if a problem day or night so what follows needs to be viewed in that light as we didn’t like to contact her when we were in bed ( for which we have to take some responsibility) and found bedside lamps didn’twork. We searched in the morning and found no hairdryer and there was a fridge but no water or milk in it. For £140 a night, ( Goodwood or not) I think that was not quite good enough. It was extremely hot…great that window opened wide and there was a fan attached to the light but the top of the 4 poster meant it didn’t reach one when in bed. A suggestion, not a complaint , a stand alone fan would be helpful. We left before breakfast which was obviously our problem but normal breakfast was 9.0 am start . We did not have chance to eat there but good beer and wine by the glass.

Friendly reception. Pub with rooms. Paid parking available at nearby property. We parked in market place next to hotel . Free from 6pm to 8am. Rooms basic but clean bar nice. Breakfast provided by cafe across the street- recommend the breakfast wraps.

Old inn but well refurbished. Room was not overly large but all comforts were there. Excellent breakfast in a tea room across the street. Quiet location (except on Saturday night when there was live music until 1 a.m.). Midhurst is a charming town and the inn lies next to a very pleasant square.
