Rustic Fishing Cabin on Lake Swan, Melrose

Beautiful rustic 1946 fishing cabin with 200 feet Lake Swan waterfront. Peaceful, park like property. It is a GREAT place for water sports and fishing. House has 1 bedroom (2 queen beds), 1 bath and a sleeping loft (2 single beds). Living area has vaulted ceilings, woodburning fireplace, large windows, sofa and queen size futon. Recently updated kitchen and bathroom. A large screened lake side porch is a great place for outdoor dining or to simply enjoy the nature.
Guests have access to 2 kayaksand a canoe.

This is the second time we have stayed at this property. We thoroughly enjoyed it and plan on coming back again soon. Had a great time celebrating my birthday weekend. This place is so quiet and peaceful. The host is always available if any issues arise. Can’t go wrong here!

Perfection!!

This location was just what I needed! Amazing spot to just relax and so close to the beach too. We spent most of our time on the lake but took a day trip over to the beach. We drove 14 hours to get to the vacation home. COMPLETELY WORTH IT!!! Cannot recommend it highly enough!

Calm repose and sweet repast

Quaint, tidy and clean; the location is rural and the .property is rustic, very private and thoughtfully landscaped with camellias, azaleas and old live oaks with Spanish moss, very impressive. The lake was larger than I expected, clear with lots of aquatic botany. The fishing was fantastic for February with bass and bream on the bite. Fly fishing was productive, lots of fun from the beach.Had a great time for my 81st birthday.

Retreat

I enjoyed tremendously. I wish I had been there in the spring as was a little chillier than I had hoped for. I am hoping to return when I can enjoy the outdoors more. It's nice to find a place where its quiet and picturesque.

Perfect Stay

Two of our company employees needed a place to stay during an off-road event this past weekend, and the cabin was absolutely perfect! They were able to spread out, cook, and relax between long days at the event. We would definitely stay again when back in the area, and highly recommend. The communication with Leana was perfect, and she was willing to work with us since it was a last minute booking, so we are extra grateful for that as well.

Beautiful place!

We loved staying in the cabin, super nice and had a pretty straightforward check in and check out. Loved sitting out on the dock and watching the wildlife. Only complaint I have is the listing says there is a hot tub. We did not find one, but that's the only thing about this place I had noticed. Will be coming back to rent this place again in the near future!

Geat time at Fishing Cabin

Beautiful property on Lake Swan. Very peaceful and relaxing. Were visted by owls, hawks, deer and armadillos. Went canoeing and had a great time!

Peaceful Old Florida Fish Camp

Land and entry felt like leaving the city for an escape. Old live oaks full of Spanish moss, with deer, ducks , sandhill cranes, slowly greeting the morning out on the screened porch. Beds comfortable with older quilts and could use some newer linens. Kitchen has all a fish camp would need and hot shower when handle turned to 3:00 before bed. Restful, would have enjoyed reading about the history behind this get away. Leana was very responsive as a host. Thanks for sharing your homestead.

Great getaway from the city

The property is beautiful, we loved being outside by the camp fire. secluded enough to feel like you are in the woods. The house was plenty big and the beds are comfortable. And the best part was watching the sunrise from our bed. We will come back in the future, we loved it. Even got to enjoy the melrose parade of lights while we were there.

Peace and tranquility

This stay was by far the most peaceful and enjoyable vacation we have had in a long time. Very clean and comfortable cabin. A quiet neighborhood. we were visited by 2 bald eagles, an owl, and a duck. We saw 5 deer a raccoon and a flock of geese. Beautiful sunrises and the moon rising over the lake was gorgeous. Could sit for hours just watching the water. Would highly recommend this beautiful cabin get-a- way.

Fishing cabin in Melrose

Absolutely fantastic! Walk down memory lane to the lakehouse my grandparents owned on Lake Jordan. Wildlife was fantastic, deer, owls, hawks, turkeys, gopher turtles, osprey. Property was nicely landscaped and easy to walk around, citrus trees and beautiful old oaks with Spanish moss. Lots of little extras!! Kayaks, a canoe, fishing poles, grill for cooking, outdoor firepit, screened in back porch ( great for that early morning coffee) The owners really tried thinking of all the little things. We had one little hiccup but, it was handled promptly and with great communication. Truly appreciated that quick response. This is not a five star hotel and spa if that's what you're looking for...but, it's a five star fishing cabin and a great place to relax and unwind. The rain on the tin roof....right off to sleep, fell asleep in the rocking chair on the back porch...peace and quiet! Would definitely recommend and may just have to make our way back again soon! Lovely Property! Takes you back in time a little.

The views of the lake wonderful

I enjoyed watching the humming birds out the kitchen window and the butterflies. Driving in at night time watch out gor the deer heading down the driveway. The cabin it's self was full of charm
