Hotellet har ett herlig bassengområde hvor du også har adgang rett til sjøen. Rommene var OK men manglet bl.a. kaffe/te løsning som jeg mener det skal være på et 5-stjernes hotel. Frokosten var heller ikke av det beste. Hotellet er sjarmerende og har en fin atmosfære men i forhold til prisen star det ikke til forventningene vi hadde.

Perfekt hotell for langweekend
Et flott hotell med kort vei inn til Palma. Direkte nærområde er kjedelig men med kort vei til andre hyggelige områder i begge retninger.

The Hospes Maricel is well aware that there are few five-star hotels on Mallorca with direct access to the sea and therefore charges its guests accordingly. Unfortunately, the facility does not deserve a five star rating. From the inside, the hotel looks dated and not at all luxurious. Drawers hanging wonky, loose wall fixtures, defect sockets, quickly clogged washbasins and a generally slightly run-down appearance. The breakfast buffet is boring and repetitive each day. No creativity, no variation in the dishes served. There are barely any typical Mallorcan dishes on offer. You have to ask the waiters for freshly squeezed orange juice every time. The coffee comes from an automatic coffee machine; no sign of a portafilter machine. And yet the hotel charges 30-37€/person for the breakfast. Furthermore, I still don't understand why a separate "better" multi-course breakfast is offered. Just improve the damn buffet... I also have no understanding for the exorbitant prices for snacks and drinks at the pool. 6€ for a coke or water at a room rate of approx. 400€-500€/night? Seriously? The next Eroski Market is five minutes away by car. Lastly, we need to speak about details: 1) On arrival at a luxury hotel, I expect a glass of champagne as a welcome drink and not the much cheaper Cava. 2) The complimentary still water (sparkling is apparently not offered at all) that is brought to you every evening tastes like filtered tap water. Would a bottle of mineral water be too expensive

Hatte mir etwas mehr erwartet
Während meiner Mallorca-Reise wollte ich mir unbedingt eine Nacht in diesem altehrwürdigen Hotel gönnen, in dem schon diverse Stars übernachtet haben. Deshalb habe ich auch ein Zimmer im Altbau gebucht. Leider war das Ganze etwas enttäuschend, denn vom Charme des alten Hotels war da nichts mehr vorhanden. Die Zimmer sind sehr modern eingerichtet, aber der Komfort blieb hier leider teilweise auf der Strecke. Beispielsweise gaben die supermodernen Lampen nur wenig Licht ab, und der Klorollenhalter war so angebracht, daß es unmöglich war, Papier abzureißen, ohne sich a) um 180° zu verrenken und b) dabei die Rolle vom Halter zu ziehen und auf den Boden fallen zu lassen. Immerhin war das Bett sehr bequem, und mit kostenlosem Wasser, etwas Schokolade und einem (allerdings ziemlich verknitterten) Amenity Kit fühlte man sich schon einigermaßen willkommen. Von der als Silber-Vorteil angepriesenen kostenlosen Flasche Wein war allerdings weit und breit nichts zu sehen. Punkten kann das Hotel mit dem spektakulären Außenpool, der allerdings bei meinem Aufenthalt noch nicht geöffnet war. Ein Spa-Bereich ist auch vorhanden, allerdings im Neubau auf der anderen Seite der Straße, zu erreichen über einen etwas seltsam anmutenden "Tunnel". Wenn man im Altbau wohnt, muß man also im Bademantel eine kleine Wanderung unternehmen. Der Pool dort eignet sich eher zum Planschen, aber nicht zum Schwimmen; dazu ist er einfach zu klein.
