Veldig koselig og lokalt hotell, stille og rolig.
Vi har bodd på Miramar flere ganger, også på Village. Vi liker oss veldig godt der,betjeningen er koselig. Beliggenheten med hagen, og valget med å ligge ved en av bassengene eller i hagen passer fruen bra.Vi kommer definitivt tilbake neste år.

Dårlig rom, fin hage
Et hotel som sårt trenger renovering. Rommet var lite og mørkt, vegg-til-veggteppet så flekkete at jeg aldri har opplevd noe liknende. Svært enkelt kjøkkenutstyr. Frokosten er bra. Hageanlegget er nydelig.

The "superior studio" was in fact just a bog standard bedroom, not a double twin. There was a long delay at check in. The hotel is nice but certainly not worth paying luxury prices for a "studio" for a standard twin pool facing room.

Great holiday, good location although it is a steep initial climb up the hill coming out of centre of Funchal, good standard of hotel with three pools and five restaurants, friendly staff and well maintained gardens

Good location
The hotel was waliking distance fromt he centre of Funchal as well as the area where most other hotels were found.There was also a bus to the centre for those who did not like walking! The hotel staff were very helpful n advising about buses. There were also several small restaurants if you did not want to eat in the hotel. We were told we had been upgraded but the room was the one we had booked. We were happy with the siz facilities and cleanliness. All the cleaning staff were lovely. We liked the fact that breakfast was varied and served from 7 - 10am every day - ideal for a holiday. Had indoor and outdorr po9ols (sadly the weather was not warm enough to use the outdoor one)

Wish I could review this hotel
I received confirmation of my hotel room in February. When I arrived in September I was told that my party was moved to another hotel without explanation. I arrived in the other hotel and it did not have thesuperior suit I had booked. I also had to pay cab fare to go to the other hotel. After checking my room, I went back to the reception desk and asked if this was a mistake. I was informed that it was not their problem and that I would have to contact the original hotel. A couple of days later I walked to the original hotel and was told that I should have gotten the info from my new hotel and that the new hotel would contact me. It never happened. AARP did refund part of my payment but I hope that anyone else file complaints against this hotel. It seems that the British had no problems but Americans certainly were not treated with respect. My brother-in-law and out wives are senior citizens and retired military. We still wonder what we did wrong to deserve this treatment. It cost each of us an additional 800 dollars for meals. AARP did make a partial reimbursement to us when we informed them of the problem

Pestana Mira Mar Garden Resort April 2017
Hotel was very good, the buffet was quite expensive, the other restaurants on site were very good. The grounds were excellent and the staff were first class.Although the Wi-Fi was very poor in the bedrooms, the only place for a good signal strength was at the reecptions!

Not bad
Nice hotel, nice pools, clean and tidy, staff generally very helpful and polite, breakfast good, coffee possibly the worst I have ever tasted. Good for couples, kids -everyone. Air-con did not work for the first week of our stay and had no back up fans (I had to supply my room number before they said no to the fan, I assume this was because I was not in a superior room!). They reserved 500euros on my card and although they said it had been cancelled on a few occasions, it was not (leaving me with limited funds) so they get a low mark because of this. They charge you 5euros a day for parking which I think is a bit cheeky. Entertainment was similar to what you find at hotels in Bournemouth!

Nice hotel, in great position
Had a great holiday in this hotel. The 3 restaurants served good food. Bars and snack bars very good. If you want a quiet holiday this would suit you fine.

confusing but convenient
We had not realised this resort was 2 hotels combined, so checked in where we had booked, the Miramar, to be taken along long corridors and up 2 lifts, to our room which ended up in the Village resort. We then had several very uncertain hours as we were given no information about things like the room safe, wi fi and hotel amenities, and getting around the resort was confusing. Once settled, we were very comfortable, our room ( studio superior), a good size, though unfortunately our balcony faced north so we never sat out as we got no sun, it had a wonderful view over the city and mountain, but the grey cloud glowering over the mountain nearly the whole time, did not encourage cheerfulness!

Hotel am Berghang gebaut in Gartenanlage
Viel Sonnenschein, aber im Zimmer immer dunkel, weil Nordseite und hoher Bewuchs vor der Terrasse. So mussten wir ständig Licht anmachen. Um Sonne zu erwischen mussten wir immer in den Innenhof am Pool, wo es oft sehr laut von anderen Gästen war.

Prachtige vakantie op een schitterend eiland.
Prima hotel vriendelijk personeel en prachtige locatie nabij het centrum van Funchal. Een auto gehuurd en het hele eiland bekeken. Diverse wandelroutes gelopen en genoten van de prachtige natuur. Vriendelijke bewoners en wat opviel was een erg schoon eiland.

This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel and find it just right for us. The staff are lovely, the area great, and the gardens the best. Would recommend to all, possibly too quiet if you have children.

All pretty good. Excellent breakfast, though coffee from machines could be better. Room had everything required. Nice meal in restaurant. Price very reasonable for quality when booked through Expedia for Christmas period.

nice hotel but needs some modernisation,
the hotel needs up dating, we booked self catering with B&B as we both have dietary needs, when we got there we found the kitchen was not up to Pestana's standard so we changed rooms, the new room was not any better a faulty kettle which was replaced for another faulty kettle, the fridge was a drinks fridge so we could not get much food inside, NO cooking utensils, NO micowave, NO toaster, remember we booked self catering Hence we will not be back to the Mira Mar!!!!!!

wanderurlaub alleine in sehr schöner unterkunft
das hotel ist in einer wunderschönen parkanlage eingebettet. drei pools laden zum baden ein und die bar ist direkt daneben gelegen. das personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit zu jeder zeit. das frühstücksbuffet ist umfassend und lässt kaum wünsche offen. eine grosse hochzeitsgesellschaft hat den hotelbetrieb überhaupt nicht gestört, am anderen morgen war alles wieder zurückgebaut und stand den hotelgästen zur verfügung. es sind etwas wenig parkplätze vorhanden und das tv-gerät ist nicht mehr zeitgemäss. was ich vermisst habe ist wlan im gesamten areal, war nur in der lobby möglich. gerne hätte ich meine mails auch am pool oder in der pool-bar gecheckt. alles in allem ein sehr empfehlenswertes resort!

Hält nicht ganz was auf der Webseite versprochen wird
Grundsätzlich hat uns der Aufenthalt im Pestana Village gefallen. Wir hatten Zimmer mit Frühstück. Das Frühstück war ausgzeichnet. Die Einrichtung des Zimmers (Standard) scheint mir jedoch ein wenig renovationsbedürftig. Ein Safe ist keineswegs imbegriffen. Er ist winzig, hat kaum Platz für Geldbörse od. Handys geschweige den für ein Tablet oder einen 10-Zoll Laptop. Zudem kostet er pro Tag 2 Euro extra. Wi-fi ist zwar kostenlos funktioniert aber nur in der Lobby und ist schleppend langsam. Ein weiterer Mangel, der für ein 4-Stern Standard nicht genügend ist, dass nur 1 Zimmer- schlüssel abgegeben wird. Die Gartenanlage ist schön und gepflegt. Im Poolbereich aber sind die Liegestühle extrem nahe beieinander aufgestellt das irgendwie keine Ferienstimmung aufkommt. Zu guter letzt sind die Parkplätze, was auf der Webseite nicht ausgewiesen ist, ebenfalls kostenpflichtg und werden mit 4.50 Euro/Tag berechnet.
