4 Fantastic days in Lyon

My wife, daughter and I visited Lyon for the first time from 23 December to 27 December. I would unhesitatingly recommend Marc and Helene's wonderful apartment at 6 rue de la Barre to anyone wanting to spend some time in Lyon. The apartment was very well appointed with every convenience that one would want including very nice glassware, crockery and cutlery and the bathroom was also very good. There was lift access to the apartment, which is on the second floor, so taking luggage was no problem. Although the apartment overlooks rue de la Barre this was not a problem. The location couldn't have been better as the apartment is only a short stroll to the metro station at Place Bellecour and the main shopping boulevards. Also there is a taxi rank across the road so getting a taxi to go to the station was very easy and inexpensive. We enjoyed our time in Lyon immensely and wish we had been able to stay longer. When we return we will certainly stay in the aparmtent again.

Amazing apartment

This place was absolutely a joy to stay in. It was impeccable and all the amenities were top notch. The only slight problem we would note is it can get a little loud as there is a pub directly next door but not too much of an issue. Couldn’t recommend the place enough.

Stunning apartment in an amazing location

This apartment is so well located to the main tourist points of interest. Step out the door and there are cafes, restaurants, food shops, tourist sights ... I would thoroughly recommend it. It has everything one needs for a few nights in Lyon. As it is located in the central city there is the usual city noise but it was not a bother at night and added to the vibrant city feel. I would definitely stay here again if returning to Lyon.

Wonderful unit so modern so clean

Marc and Helene are wonderful to communicate with. Their apartment is absolutely gorgeous modern clean and sexy. It is in a great location with so many shops and restos. The very quiet built in AC is a dream and Netflix is a bonus. We stayed only 5 nights but next year we will be returning to the same unit for 9 nights because we live it so much. Thank you Helene and Marc for taking such pride in your apartment because it shows! You have every amenity one can think of and need and that is very much appreciated. We were sad to leave your beautiful place but see you next year.

Great location and value

Exactly as advertised. Clean. Beds comfortable. Kitchen is great. Air conditioned and it works well. Maybe the best location in Lyon as most of the city is walkable; otherwise the metro is just outside the front door.

Great apartment in Lyon

My wife and I have just spent a wonderful week in Lyon and La Presqu'ile made our trip even more special. The apartment is located in the heart of the city, and easy walk or bike ride to numerous sites and restaurants. But more important is it is an oasis to come home to. The apartment is well appointed, we cooked numerous dinners there, and very comfortable after a day in the city. Or if you prefer to go out it is convenient to nightlife and the subway for farther locations. Marc and Helene were extremely helpful and responsive, we appreciated all of their restaurant suggestions. I highly recommend La Presqu'ile, you won't be disappointed.

Belle rénovation d'un appartement lyonnais traditionnel à 2 pas de la Place Bellecour

Appartement très bien équipé pour accueillir dans le confort deux couples : excellents couchages, salle de bain spacieuse, cuisine "de cordon bleu", hifi vidéo de belle facture . Emplacement central dont le seul inconvénient est de donner sur la rue des Marronniers prisée des noctambules.

Stunning, Spacious Apartment

The location is perfect for this spotless, beautifully updated apartment. The kitchen is fully equipped if you’re inclined to cook, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Highly recommended.

Great location, comfortable apartment, responsive host

This is a great place to stay in Lyon. It is right off of a major square and to the Metro - which is very easy to use. There are many restaurants and bars within easy walking distance, as well as all kinds of shops. The apartment itself is well appointed and we appreciated that the basics (soap, paper towels, water bottles) were available for guests. We did not cook but clearly there was everything one would need to do so. The hosts were very responsive in meeting us to let us in right after we arrived in Lyon and also giving us the tips we had requested on recommended restaurants, etc. Totally recommend this as a great location and comfortable apartment.

Lovely In Lyon

Apartment La Presqu'ile is an absolutely magnificent apartment located in the center of the action in Lyon. Prior reviews have covered it all; however I will say it again. My husband and I spent eight days there in mid-April. The apartment is spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed. It has both both heat and air conditioning, three AppleTVs and a Harman Kardon bluetooth speaker. The modern kitchen is fully equipped for all kinds of cooking and the dishwasher makes for easy cleanup. The dishes and glassware are exquisite. The washer/dryer tucked into a closet in the foyer means that you can limit the amount of clothes that you have to bring. Towels and sheets are on a par with those of luxury luxury hotels. For those of us who still prefer to hold a printed book rather than read it electronically, there is superb lighting including in the bedrooms. The managers of this wonderful apartment, Marc and Helene, have thought of everything that would contribute to the comfort of their guests. They are very responsive and the one small problem we had was attended to promptly. You are steps away from Place Bellecour and the Old Town.There is a Patisserie located on the ground floor of the building. One awakes from peaceful slumber in one of the apartments large comfortable beds to the heavenly smell of croissants baking. Indeed, what more could a traveler want?

Luxurious

The apartment is clean, well designed and centrally located. It’s within a 10-15 minute walk of most of the key tourist areas in Lyon. It sits next to a small street that offers a wide assortment of good restaurants. The only drawback is the noise might be a challenge for light sleepers. The owners were extremely responsive to all questions and requests.

Nicely appointed, excellent location, spacious and welcoming host

The apartment was perfectly situated on the Pres Qu’ile. A short walk took us to the Place Bellecoeur and a few steps more brought us to Vieux Lyon. There was a small market just a few store fronts down and several restaurants within walking distance — including the Rue des Marronnieres. The apartment itself was spacious and had more than enough room for my wife and I, plus our two children (13 and 11 years old). There was quite a lot of storage space which allowed us to keep our suitcases out of the way. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, a coffee machine, and a tea kettle. The most convenient feature, however, was the separate shower and toilet rooms. It allowed for the toilet to be free while someone was showering or getting ready. The only downside to such a great location was the noise. Most bars were open until about 1 AM and the traffic — both pedestrian and vehicles — tended to be on the loud side. Overall we were quite pleased with our stay and would stay there again!

Picture perfect

The place is absolutely beautiful. I would stay here again if I ever get the chance. They keep a full schedule and it's easy to see why. I read a couple reviews which said it could be noisy at night, but I see that differently. You're right in the very best spot in the city where everyone else wants to be too. Compared to an American city at night it's silent as the grave. The owners were very kind and accommodating to all my needs. The apartment is truly magnificent. It has all the conveniences you could wish for, the equipment is flawless. One of my favorite features is the Netflix and the smart TV. Those were big selling points for me, as I don't speak French. I was able to keep up with all my shows at home, and relax with a good movie. I just can't can't enough good things about the apartment or the wonderful people that own it. 5 star, no questions asked. You wont find a better place anywhere, trust me I looked at all of them. If you're thinking of booking this property, do it now before someone else gets it.

Perfect Lyon

The apartment is centrally located on Presque Isle. It is fully equipped and the pictures are very accurate but understate the truly excellent condition. The kitchen is vacation equipped so the majority of needs will be met. The owners are very accommodating and check to make sure your stay is comfortable. This is a city apartment so there is street noise. I stayed alone in the apartment, so I used the back bedroom and that mitigated the noise for me, but if you are a light sleeper it could be a problem. If you are looking for a centrally located apartment in impeccable condition this is it.

Wonderful Apartment

The apartment is beautiful and very well appointed. Everything is well maintained and tastefully done. The location is very convenient. We felt very comfortable in the apartment. The only thing is as some other people have mentioned, it can get noisy at night over the weekend due to its location, but this is not something that can be changed. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay in it.

Fantastic Place

We were thrilled with Marc and Helene’s apartment. It’s location next to Place Bellecoure could not be more convenient to the wonderful restaurants and shops nearby. The apartment is beautiful and spacious and had everything we needed for our 3 week stay. Marc and Helene were attentive and gracious hosts.

The best of everything

From the moment we walked into the apartment we loved it. Smack bang in the middle of town, walk to all the sites and restaurants and to the fantastic Sunday market along the river. The apartment is spotlessly clean, light, bright and modern. Everything you could wish for is here and more, just like a luxury hotel suite with all the extras. Good bathroom and shower, washing machine, dishwasher, cooktop and oven. Not that you will need them...with so many great restaurants close at hand. The lift is efficient and the apartment is secure. Marc and Helene have thought of everything and are delightful to deal with. Thank you for a great stay.....we just had one problem...it wasn’t long enough. See you next year.

Beautiful apartment in ideal location

Our review title sums it up. This home is up to date in every respect, with all of the most modern conveniences. It’s in a secure location on the second floor with easy access to the elevator. There’s a bakery practically right next door on the street level. The nearest Metro stop is about 100 yards away. A small grocery store is about 2 blocks away. Right around the corner is a street literally full of all types of local Lyonnaise restaurants, most with outdoor seating. ATMs are also close by. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our hosts and their perfect apartment.

Excellent in every way!!!

We rented the Place Bellecour Apartment for 8 nights in January. I will return to this property without any hesitation. The apartment has quite simply everything what you need. Helene & Marc are wonderful hosts who provide great service and are very helpful. Marc met us at the apartment on our arrival and showed us how everything worked. The apartment it is an excellent choice, high quality, fully equipped, modern decoration, with clean lines. Central location, walking distance to everything. Restaurants, bakeries and a Monoprix grocery store, tourist office and the corner taxi stand. Everything was sparkling clean. I cannot imagine a better place to stay in Lyon and would definitely stay here again.

Luxury in Lyon

We rented the Place Bellecour Apartment for 9 days in late April. It is ideally located to explore Lyon, with all the most interesting areas within walking distance. The apartment is within 5 minutes of the main tourist office in Place Bellecour and is surrounded by restaurants, bakeries and a Monoprix grocery store is about 5 minutes away near the tourist office. The apartment is spacious and bright with many large windows and is very comfortable – an ideal place to come back to after a day of wandering around the city. It’s a corner unit so it gets a lot of natural light. It has been totally renovated and is very modern with clean lines, wooden floors and is well equipped. The bathroom is spacious with a large shower unit and a rain shower. We found the bed quite comfortable. It is air-conditioned which we usually don’t use but we found it useful as we had unseasonably warm weather during our stay. Marc and Helene are gracious hosts and were both flexible and helpful – we particularly enjoyed their restaurant recommendations. We really enjoyed Lyon – a city with an interesting history, great food and friendly people and of course with great wine regions nearby.

Excellent accommodation very central to Lyon's main visitor attractions. The apartment was clean, smart and well appointed, with an excellent range of facilities. Well provisioned with everything you'd need to prepare and serve food if self-catering, it is also very conveniently situated for local restaurants. Communication with Marc and Helen was excellent. Lyon proved to be a very interesting and beautiful city to visit.

Great stay in Lyon!
