Beyond its reputation as a chic, residential neighborhood (the equivalent of Paris’s 16th arrondissement), Lyon’s 6th arrondissement is more than just its Haussmann-style buildings and mansions. Bordered by the famous and magnificent Parc de la Tête d’Or to the north and the Cours Lafayette to the south, Lyon’s 6th arrondissement is also the “green lung of the City of Lights.”
It’s the perfect place to stay with one foot in the heart of the city and the other in the great outdoors!
Did we say one foot in the heart of the city and the other in the great outdoors? Spanning 117 hectares, the park occupies the entire tip of the 6th arrondissement. There you’ll find a lake, a wild meadow teeming with animals, an African savanna, a botanical garden, carousels, a Guignol puppet theater, tropical greenhouses, and a rose garden. For those with a sweet tooth, various food stands await you, where you can enjoy waffles, cotton candy, ice cream, and more—with or without your children.

The 6th arrondissement is also one of the liveliest in Lyon.
