Gwal-y-filiast from below The cromlech stands on a shelf of the valley which below it starts to slope abruptly. The boles and roots of the surrounding beech trees and nearby boulders are thickly covered with moss of a brilliant green which adds a quite magical effect.

Afon Taf below Gwal-y-filiast At the point at which the Afon Taf flows past Gwal-y-filiast, the river starts to flow with greater force and the sound of the rushing water is highly audible from the burial chamber. This change in the river's character may have dictated the tomb's location; other inland prehistoric sites are similarly placed.

Very nice hotel. Clean and refurbished, very spacious rooms and aircondition. Could use more staff, as service took a while. Prices were high for drinks and small menu. Would go back and looking forward to see when the rest of building is completed.

Nice small cosy room that was toasty warm. Only marked it down as the milk in the little pots was just a solid mass of gloop so could not make a drink. A note on the wall advised that milk was available downstairs in the bar, which is no good if you make a first brew after the place is closed.

We only saw him when we had a problem with the tv.the cottage although roomy was very dated and in need of a complete refurbishment the fifth bedroom could not be accessed by the main accommodation which was not shown in the details.The towels provided were like drying with sandpaper.
