NOT THE ACCOMMODATION IN THE PHOTOS
The page on this website is very misleading. None of the 58 pictures are of anywhere remotely similar to the accommodation they are meant to represent!!! This is in the heart of terraced, urban Liverpool without any hint of greenery, and none of the photos are anything like the place! This impression overwhelmed any other, and was the source of my disappointment... this needs to be rectified so that future guests know what they've paid for!

Hidden little gem
We have stayed in Liverpool a few times before and had ok hotels, however this trip was our first in a guest house and we will use it every time we go from now on. Very conveniently located near the city but not too close, lovely room with everything we needed including a little fridge, clean and tidy, comfortable bed and nice bathroom, the hosts, Michelle and dave, were lovely and couldn't do enough to make our stay a pleasant one, continental breakfast was nicely presented and very tasty especially after the night before indulgence, well worth the price and set us up for the day. On site comedian in the form of dave was an added bonus, nice garden courtyard area to sit in with a beer after walking around the city. A great place to stay at a really low price, already looking forward to planning our next trip to Liverpool and we'll definitely be staying here again. Thank you dave and Michelle for making us feel so welcome and thanks for your lovely guest house 10 out of 10. Diolch yn fawr from Wales

Frühstück war für den Preis in Ordnung. Die Gastgeberin, Michelle war sehr zuvorkommend und äußerst nett. Bei meiner nächsten Reise nach Liverpool werde ich definitiv wieder hier ein Zimmer buchen, vor allem auch da die Anbindung in die City sehr gut war und auch die Entfernung zu Anfield nicht zu groß ist, um dorthin zu Fuß zu laufen.

Good value for the money
The room was comfortable and very clean, the only fault is that the walls are thin and unless you are a heavy sleeper it is not for you as you will be woken up continually through people talking loudly, walking past the room to theirs - other than that it was good value for money

Diabolical!
Diabolical! At the reception, out of the blue, the man decided to insult me and belittle me, in front of my partner. Both, my partner and I were shocked by this. When I complained to his wife, she was helpful and got him to apologise. The apology, in a way, made things worse, because the man kept on saying that he wasn't being racist. Why did he bring race in to it? I didnt bring race in to it. I didn't see things in racial terms. I just saw him as plain rude! Why did he bring race in to the equation? Unless he was projecting his own racial issues. The man also made a big deal out of the fact that he waited for us till 8pm at the check in (we arrived at 7.55) But surely thats his job to wait, and we made it before the 8 pm deadline! Apart from that, the room was pretty grotty, I am flabbergasted that this property has received suc great reviews! Please check the photos that I've included!

Comfy friendly and very close to the city
Had a great stay michelle was brilliant for checking in was running a little late gave her call and there was no problem . Got a free upgrade with a room with ensuite which was a lovely surprise. Cant fault the place very comfy bed nice shower and good breakfast facilities and very easy to get into the city .would stay again if back in liverpool.cheers Michelle really nice to meet you if is was only for 10 mins.

Room basic but clean and all we needed. We were running the Liverpool Rock n Roll marathon. Was only 10/15 mins in a taxi to the Albert Docks. 👍 Michelle and David were extremely helpful ☺️

Thank you for your review, its greatly appreciated. We market The Old Dairy as 'A Budget Guest House', so 'No Frills' should not be a surprise. However, we provide in our rooms everything that you would get in a Premier Inn or Travel lodge, so not entirely sure what more we can provide within the Budget Option. Our area/location is on a typical residential street on the periphery of the city centre as described.

No frills, great value, clean & comfortable room
I booked this room at the last minute and was pleasantly surprised. Super friendly welcome and helpful staff. The room was clean, comfortable and served my requirements perfectly. The location was ok to get to Anfield or the city centre by cab and if you wanted to walk into town or the docks, it's not far at all. Plenty of space in the surrounding roads for parking too. If good value is what you're looking for, then you can't go far wrong with The Old Dairy Guest House.

Sehr schöne ruhige Lage, Bus-Anbindung ins Zentrum direkt um die Ecke, 20 min. sehr freundliches Personal, super entgegenkommend und hilfsbereit, sehr herzlich. haben uns direkt willkommen gefühlt. schönes Zimmer, sogar mit eigener toilette und waschbecken, entgegen unserer erwartung. Dusche im erdgeschoss, Bademantel steht aber zur verfügung! Frühstück sehr gut mit viel auswahl! wir sind insgesamt sehr zufrieden :) wenn man mit der gemeinschaftsdusche (eine duschkabine, kein waschsaal o.ä., also möglicherweise etwas wartezeit), dann ist dieses gasthaus wirklich perfekt :)

Great Guest House
Second visit to The Old Dairy, this is a smashing Guest House. Short bus/taxi ride from Centre of Liverpool taxi £5 each way all day bus ticket £4.40. Could walk if nice day. Michelle great host very welcoming. Rooms are great size light and airy. Cannot fault anything with this great Guest House excellent value.

The room is cosy, tidy and clean with sufficient space for my luggage. The breakfast is great. The owners are nice and helpful. The location is not in town and there is no public transport except taxi.

Just to correct your comment on public transport however, its important for other bookers to know: YTaxis are NOT the only public transport available from here, wea re serviced by an excellent Bus service that stops at the top of the road and out of the city centre. Perhaps you only used Taxis. WE are happy you enjoyed your stay with us.

Thank you for your feedback. As you have chosen to be anonymous its difficult to assess why you found our service poor as we dont have any info on you or your stay. I am guessing that you were here whilst we were on holiday, therefore you will have been advised why there would be very limited service. Although i am not sure what more you would be expecting in terms of service in a budget guest house, such as ours.

Just the job
Thanks to Michelle & David for a great guest house. Quiet & peaceful but a great location for getting to centre of Liverpool - 15 mins away by bus. Handy bus stop is just round the corner. Michelle kindly printed out some tickets I'd forgotten to bring which was much appreciated. Good choices for continental breakfast. Look forward to a return visit!

Great value guest house with easy access to city
Stayed at The Old Dairy for two nights in Feb-18. Staff were very friendly and could not have been more helpful with very easy check in and advice on travel into the city about 2 miles away, plus suggestions on where to eat in the evening. Room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Overall great value for money and a quick taxis ride or drive into the city. We will be going back to explore more of the vast amount Liverpool has to offer.

Very enjoyable and comfortable stay
I was working in the area and The Old Dairy provided clean, quiet and comfortable accommodation. Coming from Scotland, the 6pm Sunday deadline for booking in was a bit risky but I managed on time. The Guest House was behind a big set of locked double gates half way down a cramped street of terraced houses and a bit awkward to find initially as the street lighting is not bright and the sign is partly hidden behind a bush. However Michelle and David were in frequent contact by text message and David arrived within about 15 minutes to book me in. First impressions were deceptive, the gates led to a lane behind the houses and a separate entrance to the Guest House. Car can be parked in the lane without issue although if more than one it might be an issue if you need to get out early for work. I had no problem at all throughout my stay. There seems to be adequate space in the street to park if need be. David booked me in and issued me with a gate key, keys for both front doors and a room key. My room was very clean, freshly decorated and comfortable. I had a double and single bed, small clothes hanging space, TV, kettle and tea/ coffee. The free wifi was a bit hit and miss as to whether it showed up in the list of available stations. Overall, a very enjoyable stay, so much so that I booked my second week at the Old Dairy Guest House and would stay in the future if working in that area.

Old mill review
Hotel was just a little outside city centre which is what we wanted. there is a bus that takes u to city but for the 3 of us we were just as cheap getting a taxi. Owners were friendly and helpful and guest house was clean and comfortable with tea or coffee facilities and on suite in room. For a small fee u could have continental breakfast . And for other meals u could take food in from carry out shop or prepare and cook ur own meal using guest house facilities and dining room. We had an enjoyable stay here thankyou

Stayed there before. Only 10 mins from town in a taxi. Clean, great value for money and the staff are very friendly. Will be back soon for sure!!

Amazing long weekend away.
Amazing accommodation considering the price. The owners were fantastic from the minute we checked in till we left very helpful with where to go and how to get there. We're already looking to return and will recommend to anyone who mentions going to Liverpool.
