This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had and completely unworthy of the Westin name or a so-called 5-star rating.
The hotel is extremely dirty. After sleeping just one night, my entire arm and back were covered in red, swollen bite marks. This was not a minor irritation — it was obvious and alarming. Cleanliness is the most basic expectation, and this hotel failed badly.
Instead of taking responsibility, the hotel tried to blame me, suggesting the bites were caused by eating seafood or doing water sports. This is false. I did none of those things. Rather than investigate their hygiene issues, staff chose to deny and deflect.
Even more disturbing, I placed a clear “Do Not Disturb” sign, yet staff entered the room while I was not there. When I returned, things had been disturbed, suggesting an attempt to remove evidence instead of addressing the problem properly. This is a serious violation of guest privacy.
Due to health concerns, we requested to leave early, but the hotel refused to refund the unused nights, effectively forcing us to stay the full 3 nights. We contacted Expedia, and the hotel explicitly refused cancellation. Staff even gave us a random phone number that cannot be verified as a Westin contact anywhere online.
The room also had a strong mold smell, an issue mentioned in many other reviews, showing long-term neglect.
This level of cleanliness, service, and integrity is unacceptable for a 5-star hotel. I will not return and strongly caution other
