This small vacation cottage is located in a quiet “vacation park” on the outskirts of the medieval town of Lichtenberg in the Franconian Forest.
It is a well-equipped vacation home where up to 4–5 people can comfortably enjoy their stay.
The house, complete with a garden, is situated in a quiet residential area where some neighbors live year-round, while others stay here during the vacation season.
The sunny, landscaped south-facing terrace features a round garden dining table and a retractable awning. Take a nap on one of our two garden loungers or use our grill.
On the north side, if fruit is available, feel free to help yourself to apples and plums from the trees.
On the first floor is the cozy living area, newly furnished in 2020, featuring a sleeper sofa, two armchairs, a coffee table, and a dining table that seats up to 4 people. The living area features a satellite TV with the latest SMART TV technology and a CD radio, and if needed, the modern heat-storage stoves can also be turned on here.
The adjacent, simply furnished kitchenette includes a refrigerator, sink, coffee maker, electric kettle, microwave, two hot plates, and the usual dishes, etc.
A shower room/toilet leads off from the small hallway with a storage area. A narrow, space-saving staircase leads upstairs from the living area and is secured at the top with a child safety gate. The bedroom with a double bed (XX) and the slightly smaller children’s room with two single beds (each 80x190 cm) are thus located on the upper floor. There is a dresser there, as well as closets built into the sloped ceiling for your clothes.
The 450-square-meter property is not fenced in, so dogs cannot run around freely. Unfortunately, smoking inside the house is not permitted. Wi-Fi/Internet and a nearby parking spot are available!
Charcoal for your first barbecue, as well as toilet paper and paper towels for the first few days, are provided. A small selection of tea, spices, sugar cubes, and coffee filters is provided.
> About the Town and Location
The small medieval town of Lichtenberg, the oldest town in the Hof district (town rights since 1337) and one of the smallest towns in Germany. The picturesque old town is directly adjacent to the ruins of Lichtenberg Castle.
Located in the Franconian Forest, the town is surrounded by mixed forests, ponds, and a hilly meadow landscape—thanks to the excellent hiking network, you can explore this stunning landscape on your hikes.
But there’s no shortage of festivals here in Upper Franconia either—whether it’s the meadow and fishing festivals or the regionally popular Medieval Castle Festival in Lichtenberg, all attract visitors from far and wide.
Our town is home to the Haus Marteau International Music Center, featuring its modern concert hall, newly opened in 2021. There’s also a visitor mine and a number of mostly excellent Franconian taverns and restaurants.
About 700 meters from your Spitzhaus is the Frankenwald swimming lake, redesigned in 2021 and nestled in the countryside, and one of the beautiful hiking trails leading into the wild and romantic Höllental valley begins very nearby.
But there’s also plenty to explore in the surrounding towns—for example, in Bad Steben, there’s a thermal spa with indoor and outdoor pools, a spa garden, and a casino.
