We stayed at the condo for an extended amount of time, and for the first part of our stay there were positives and some areas for improvement. The bed was comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped for longer stays. There were a few practical issues that would have made the experience smoother if addressed. There was no welcome guide or instructions provided, so it took time to figure out basics like gate access ( a fob is required for multiple areas of the complex, and a separate gate clicker is needed for garage parking). Cleanliness at check-in was also inconsistent, as the tile floors were quite dirty; to the host’s credit, cleaners were sent the next day to resolve this. The last two days of our stay, we experienced a serious incident when the neighboring unit discharged a firearm, and a bullet impacted a shared wall. While we were out, police forced entry into the condo for a welfare check, leaving the unit completely inaccessible. As a result, we were unable to use the condo for the final two days of our trip. We also couldn’t retrieve my husband’s important medication until the next morning at 10am twhen the HOA finally removed the plywood from the door. The host did arrange alternative accommodations the first night, which we did appreciate. However, there was no refund or compensation for the unused portion of our stay or expenses incurred. While the incident was outside of the host’s control, the lack of of compensation made a stressful unsafe situation worse.
