If you are looking for the perfect mountain golf adventure with your buddies or an unforgettable mountain lake adventure with your family, this is the home that you will want to rent. You will be amazed at the beauty and details of this custom home. From the gated entry to the roaring creek in the rear, every inch of this home screams quality and precision. With two living spaces, this home is ideal for multiple families. The new game room is a great place to watch the game while you challenge your friends to ping pong, corn toss, darts, air hockey or ring toss. Whether you want to unwind with a good book while listening to Buffalo Creek running through the back yard, or enjoy an active vacation with full access to all of the amenities of Rumbling Bald on Lake Lure, which includes two championship golf courses, the most amazing lakeside private beach in North Carolina with paddle board and kayak rentals, two pools including a lazy river, hot tub, sauna, steam room, multiple racket sports, miniature golf, lake front restaurant and bar with amazing views, this is the spot for you. Located a couple of hundred yards from the entrance to Buffalo Creek Park with 3.5 miles of mountain biking fun, this home is the perfect mixture of fun and sophistication. Extra bedroom is located above the game room/garage which is detached from the home. Perfect for kids that want their own space. This is a new rental, book now and in the future while you still can! Includes up to 12 Rumbling Bald passes (children under 12 passes are not required, these passes are only for house guests). 5th bedroom is a temperature controlled bunk room above the game room. Perfect for older kids. Home can sleep 22+. To keep this experience affordable for smaller groups, the posted rates are for the first 12 guests. $30 per guest per night extra for more than 12 guests. This home was exactly what our family needed during a difficult time. We came together after the loss of our nephew, and the peaceful setting brought us so much comfort. The house was the perfect size for all of us with beautiful balconies overlooking the mountains, woods and river. The views were truly calming that helped us reflect and reconnect. We made wonderful memories enjoying the hot tub and game room and the home had everything we needed and more. We are so grateful for such a welcoming, tranquil space. Thank you for providing a place where our family could be together and find a bit of peace.

2025 Family Trip Success!

The process to get our family trip started was super easy. The host was very helpful and accommodating to our needs.The house is beautiful and setup perfectly for multiple families. We were able to walk down to the creek behind the house and do some exploring. But some of us just enjoyed being on the outside deck enjoying the sounds of nature. The passes to the resort was a plus for a family with all different ages, it allowed access to the pool which has a lazy river. The house was only 5 minutes from the resort. Overall, my family and I enjoyed being together in a beautiful home making lasting memories. We took updated family photos in the outside area that was setup beautifully. We are already planning our next trip back here. Thanks to host Marsh!

Wonderful!

We recently stayed at Marsh’s place for a weekend getaway, and it was a fantastic experience! The home was exactly as described—spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The location was perfect, close to local attractions yet peaceful enough for a relaxing retreat. Marsh was incredibly accommodating, providing clear and detailed instructions. loved the fully equipped kitchen, which allowed us to prepare meals and enjoy family dinners. The outdoor enclosed patio space was a highlight, for morning coffee and an inviting hot tub for evening relaxation. Overall, it was a wonderful weekend, and I can’t recommend this rental enough for anyone looking for a cozy and convenient escape!

Family wedding

Our 6 day stay was an extended before & after wedding family vacation. The location at Rumbling Bald was convenient to the wedding in Rutherfordton but also provided convenient access to local hiking and outdoor activities. The home was spacious even though we had several young adults and teens - no one had a share a bed with a sibling! We especially loved the screened porches and listening to the “Falling Waters” of the creek below. Home was beautifully appointed and owner readily responded to any questions we had. Lovely stay!

Family vacation

Our vacation was great. The house held 8 adults and 5 kids. Rumbling bald was great and we enjoyed the indoor/outdoor pool areas. The restaurants on site were convenient and served Starbucks. The only thing I would say is that the access to the creek is only available by very steep steps leading down. And the room with the 4 beds is above a detached garage. So our kids were just a little too young to stay in there by themselves. Overall great experience at this house! Marsh was very communicative and proactive with everything.

Great rental experience

Our family had a great vacation here. The house had everything we could possibly need. Host was easy to communicate with and responded quickly to questions. Manager Retreat

My company had a manager retreat and there was 12 of us that stayed in the house. The house is beautiful and had everything we needed. We did not feel crowded. There was enough space that during our working sessions we could all sit in a circle for collaboration and be comfortable. We had a little hiccup trying to get in when we first arrived. Marsh was very responsive and took care of the situation immediately.

Unforgettable Lake Lure Vacay

Had to share about our amazing VRBO stay in Lake Lure at this fantastic property! Seriously, this place was a memory-making machine! The property and amenities? A dream. Fit two families with room to spare, and you could probably fit a whole crew in there. The owners must've poured their heart into it because every little thing was spot on. Now, let's talk about the Rumbling Bald access. Pool, put-put, pickleball, beach access, boat rentals, basketball, life-size chess, restaurants and more. Having access to Rumbling Bald made this trip so much better than if we rented a property without it. Also nearby are other adventures that we took advantage of: Zip-lining, tubing, boating, hiking – we did it all. Laughed so hard, screamed like crazy – pure, unadulterated fun. Then back at the cabin, the Scrabble and chess battles were ON. The porch was our arena – screen-covered, bug-free, and oh-so-comfy. The cabin also has a game area where you can enjoy ping pong, darts and air hockey. The owners have thought of everything. If I had a question or request, they were on it. Oh, those screened porches! A game-changer for us Florida folks. No bugs, no heat – just pure chill. And the best part? Listening to the stream running below the cabin. Nature's own soundtrack. We can’t wait to return!

Falling Waters a must stay!

Everything about this home was amazing. Lots of activities nearby and at the home itself. The home was well equipped. In fact we took way too much stuff and didn't need to carry all that with us. Lots of room and spaces at the home. The screened in porches were wonderful and got lots of use from the coffee drinkers in the morning and afternoon. Rumbling Bald resort, which was only like 5 minutes away, was definitely a plus. We used the lake beach, the pool, rented pontoons and ate at the restaurant. They were very accommodating. We ziplined at Canopy Ridge which was great. Visited Chimney Rock village on a rainy day. Visited 2 ice cream spots, all wonderful. We cooked lots of breakfasts and dinners at the house and enjoyed being with each other. Good times and would definitely come back. Thank you.

Kitchen 2 table memories

We loved the kitchen so much we made every meal and gathered at the table. Many laughs, stories and memories were made as well as some great meals. Listening to the babbling brook from the screened in porches silenced the mind and gave peace to your heart. The facilities for swimming, putt putt, beach, play area, etc are wonderful and clean and close to the house. We all got a good laugh out of trying to figure out how to lock the keypads#. Only took 6 adults and a phone call.

Lake lure family trip

We live in Florida and like to come up to the mountains at least twice a year this year we picked lake Lure and are supper glad we ended up in this property. Everything on the home was really wonderful the owner thinks about all your needs. From games for the kids the room arrangements and all the basic necessities. We would gladly stay in this home again and would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay.

We do a family "git-together" each of 8-9 people each year and this house was by far the nicest one we have rented. Very upscale in finishes and kitchen cabinets and appliances which was important for ladies. A flowing stream next to screen porches (2) made sitting wonderful. We will certainly be back.

Beautifully appointed home in creek side setting

We stayed for a week in August and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The owner was highly responsive at reservation and sent detailed instructions before our rental date. On arrival, we found the home was even better that the description in a marvelous setting. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and 2 screen porches in the evening and listening to the creek below! The bedrooms, bathrooms, and dual family spaces are set-up perfectly for multi-generational families. Towels and bedding were plentiful and high quality. The kitchen had the best set-up of any rental home in our experience, including spices, basics, and coffee supplies. We especially liked the separate wine/drink cooler and ice machine. I can't say enough positive things about the great activities around the Lake Lure and Chimeny Rock area, and the Rumbling Bald resort amenities were great. Our kids especially appreciated the outside pool at Rumbling Bald. This was the best rental home experience we've had in over 20 years and we definitely recommend to anyone considering a stay in the Lake Lure area.
