Villa Chelis - Downtown La Fortuna

Casa Chelis is located just 4 blocks away from downtown La Fortuna, excellent location to explore La Fortuna, all main attractions are 10 to 30 minutes drive from the house. The house has 3 bedrooms with double bed each one, A/C units in each bedroom, 2 full bathrooms, Smart TV, WiFi (100 Megabytes - Very stable service), private pool, laundry machine, fully equipped kitchen, BBQ and private parking. Great option for families, friends and couples traveling together.

The neighborhood is very secure and calm, due to the location you will be quite close from town but a bit away enough to avoid the downtown noise. Due to the house location (4 blocks from downtown La Fortuna) is not necessary have a car during your stay because everything is close by, you have options to walk around or we will offer a lot of options to choose from about activities.

We offer FREE PLANNING SERVICE for your transportation and tours in La Fortuna/Arenal Volcano area, just let us know what you would like to do and we will help you to organize your vacations in our country with excellent rates and service. Once you book our property we will send you a detailed document with information about activities, transportation and more things about La Fortuna/Arenal Volcano area.

Stayed 4 nights in Nov 2025. This review is a mixed bag, first the good, the location is great, walking distance to everything in La Fortuna, the villa is dated but fully functional. The outdoor pool area is fabulous and we enjoyed it each evening. The owner has upgraded this area very well with nice furniture in the seating area and pool loungers for the pool. Very nice.Now the not so good. The villa is in need of some upgrades and a little attention to detail. Upon arrival we noted an unpleasant smell in the main bathroom. The management company was fabulous in responding quickly and efficiently, coming out to check it within 20 minutes and then ordering a plumber for the next day. Not sure if the problem was found but some air fresheners made it ok. There is AC in the bedrooms but only a fan in the living room kitchen area. The listing mentioned a "stove" but there are only 2 burners and no oven. There was a toaster oven which is too small to actually bake something and the air fryer was broken and taken away but never replaced. The bbq was a briquette style but pretty rusty so we didnt go there. Some minor attention to detail items include no dishtowels, only 2 small dish clothes, no stopper for the sink to do dishes, firestarter was out of fuel but was quickly replaced.Was thinking of a 3 rating but the incredible assistance from the management company makes it worth one more star. This property has tremendous potential with a little attention to detail.

Relaxing stay at La Fortuna

We stayed at Villa Chelis as a family of 4. Villa is located in downtown La Fortuna, close to all the attractions, market and shops. It offers fully stocked kitchen, so we enjoyed some freshly cooked meals and could stay in and enjoy a private pool. Weenjoyed ourvstay at Villa Chelis.definitely

Casa Chelis

We rented Casa Chelis for 6 days in Feb 2025.The house was in a nice neighborhood and walking distance from downtown. There was a small food market about 2 blocks away that had all the essentials needed for breakfast and snacks. We felt very safe in the neighborhood.It had 3 nice bedrooms and a beautiful and clean small swimming pool in the back yard. I can't say enough about the management company, House of Tours.The whole staff was so helpful with booking tours and transportation. Very prompt too.I highly recommend this Casa Chelis.

Authentic Costa Rican home !

We loved our stay! Staying in an authentic Costa Rican home was soo cool ! We had all of the amenities we needed for our stay. Having a pool was a plus even though we didn’t use it much. We had an awesome view of the volcano! Thank you for the memories !

Fantastic location in downtown La Fortuna. Great for walking to supermarkets, the park, coffee shops, bars, and restaurants in La Fortuna. The pool and patio make for a perfect place to relax after hiking and adventuring around Arenal. Highly recommend!

Wonderful!

This property was just as described and lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here, the close walk to town, the safety of the area, and the owners we quick and helpful to respond. The pool was a great feature in which the kids took full advantage. The House of Tours quickly and promptly helped us arrange a tour with a great price. Would definately stay again and recommend to others!

Awesome location with a private pool

This is a fine spot just off the well-worn areas of La Fortuna. It’s a great home base for daily excursions to the area. Exceptionally clean. Had some pretty weird. But that’s just minor complaint. You will be happy here.

Amazing location, cute house!

This house had plenty of room for our family of 4. We loved having the kitchen and living area, as well as outdoor eating and lounging space. The pool was so pretty. Communication with owners and simple. The location makes it easy to walk into town or up to the market to grab essentials. I’d definitely stay here again.

Great spot in La Fortuna

We were very happy with our stay at Villa Chelis. House is situated a short 7min walk to town, a 5min walk to grocery and a 10min drive to the Waterfall. The House was perfect size for us (we had 4 adults in our group), it was clean, the pool and covered deck were a great place to start our day with a coffee and finish with a drink by the pool. Great experience.

Wonderful Home!

I would highly recommend this home. Very clean and within walking distance to downtown. We even booked our excursions through them. Home is equipped with everything needed. They provided thourgouh directions, instructions and lots of options for daily activities. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Overall, a wonderful home and experience!

Wonderful Accommodations

Great little house right near the center of town. Perfect location. Loved having a pool. Having air conditioning was a huge plus. Property manager was really terrific and helped us with other excursions. I would definitely recommend this place

Canadians in Costa Rica

Property was located in residential setting in which close to town centre which was nice as you could walk there,however neighborhood had properties with barred windowed and entrances giving an impression it was an unsafe area. Property itself was older and although was clean did feel old. Kitchen when arrived had a strong negative odour which the property manager did attend too rather quickly when requested. Also tv’ a we’re not working initially but again property manager did attend too and by replacing batteries was able to get working. Overall place was okay.

Great walking location, nice pool!

We stayed a week here and enjoyed the house and pool. Very safe location with a view of the volcano. Only thing I’d change is adding foam covers to the mattresses, they are a bit too hard.

Small Costa Rican Home

The house was smaller than expected but was great for what we needed. 2 adults and 3 kids between ages 15 and 19. Kitchen supply the necessary things needed for coffee in the morning and light meals. Dont expect to cook a five course meal in this kitchen. 😋 pool and patio extended the living space. Close to a grocery store. Smart tvs and adequate wifi. Neighborhood felt safe. Management team was fantastic and very responsive with questions and recommendations.
