Absolutely fantastic hotel! Exceptional architecture & 5-star service. Large beautiful hotel rooms with simple and beautiful interior. Great hotel amenities - with everything from bespoke tea-sets to espresso machines. Exceptional service! The best hotel I have stayed at (also compared to 5star hotels)

Beautiful property and so convenient and close to Kyoto station. Breakfast was very delicious. One criticism is that even with the Expedia VIP benefit there was still a 2000yen charge for the spa which felt unfair considering the cost of the stays here

The Thousand Kyoto is one block away from Kyoto Station. I was met at the counter with a native English speaker who escorted me to my room. The room itself was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had anywhere in the world. I had dinner reservations made in Gion and by the time I was at the bottom floor, the taxi was waiting on me with directions. A few blocks off the river for a nice morning/evening walk. Would have stayed forever if it was in budget.

The property is new, clean, and is conveniently located close to Kyoto station. The breakfast wait was ridiculous. They were always overwhelmed and the employees' English was poor, so communicating them was very hard. There are 3 elevators for the entire hotel, so you can wait for over 5 minutes for a lift. Overall, it was disappointing.

We loved the service, the location and convenience to the city. The Cafe Bar did not have great service Took long time to get snacks and drinks. Plus the menu was limited.

The location is good and directly across from the main train station. Unfortunately, the hotel staff doesn’t speak English well, and trying to use them for anything was difficult. Likewise, the hotel was not flexible in the way a top hotel should be. Finally, the hotel has no public space other than the lobby - no lounge or sitting area or business center. I needed to do a work call at 1030 pm and ended up in my room, despite my wife being asleep.

Eco friendly hotel with a taste of art
Super convenient, located literally 3mins walk from kyoto station, this makes it much easier to travel around. Great service from the staff especially from concierge to front desk to breakfast place. You will find the hotel is super eco friendly, and on this aspect they are really going into details. One other special thing about the hotel is the taste of art they offer, from the deco to the art piece they display around the hotel. Will definitely consider to come back in the future.
