«Very friendly staff and courtyard. Room was clean and comfortable. Would have really liked coffee available at the property and more reliable wifi. Website said “coffee in common areas”, but I never found it, if available. Kettle, fridge, dishes in the room, but no coffee — even instant. For my 1-night stay, it was fine walking to a beach café for take-out ☕️. Wifi was an issue as trying to make arrangements with a group.»

«This is a self-service hotel where you will receive the location and door code along with the key which associates to your room. The room had the basic necessities such as soap, towels and WiFi which were all I needed. The only issue I had was activating the A/C which did not work even after closing the window. Overall, I enjoyed Chania and TheJoy hotel and would come back again!»

«My son and daughter and I had an amazing stay here. The hotel might be old but it is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We were looked after brilliantly and treated like family rather than guests. We could easily walk to a range of really good bars and restaurants and there is a massive supermarket five minutes walk away. Loved it.»

«We were a group of seven friends that had booked the villa that Ifigenia owns. On the home page of hotels.com it says that the villa is in the center of the old town in Chania. When we arrived we discovered that the villa was located far away, up in the mountains. We spent 100 Euro on two taxis to go to the villa and back to town! We had to find new rooms for all seven in the old town. We have asked both Ifigenia and hotels.com for a refund. We have sent over proof of the taxi bills and the ...
