8/10 – Bra

First, the house is mostly stunning. Unbeatable views from which we saw several whales. The pool is a good size for kids to play (no shallow end, FYI), and the outdoor dining table is different and bigger than the one pictured - you can seat 8 comfortably and 10 without difficulty. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked with every device, tool, and storage solution you could ask for. The cooktop controls have faded almost completely away, making it a bit of a guessing game to figure out. The multi-sized zone is nearly impossible to use.The three en-suite bathrooms are nice and spacious. The fourth bathroom in the hallway is not in great shape - broken window slats, a window at the far end that looks right out to the outdoor shower (we covered it with a bedsheet), small counterspace, a sticky/loud door. The TV room is very small, seating five people or maybe six with kids. There are AC units in the bedrooms that work well, but none in the living spaces and kitchen, so it can get quite warm in the afternoon and evening. Nearly the entire length of the house front and back has sliding doors that open (with screens) to let a breeze come through. Still, some days were uncomfortably warm late in the day.The location was great. A great snorkeling beach right down the road (Lawai Beach), a nice walk to Spouting Horn, a quick drive or walk to the Shops at Kukuilu.Overall, this was a magnificent house, but I give it 4 stars because, for the extreme price, it should be perfect.
