"We stayed at Amari Koh Samui expecting a four-star hotel experience, but unfortunately it did not feel like that at all.
The hotel shows clear signs of age. Many areas feel worn, and there was a noticeable musty smell in several places. We were also unlucky with a leak in the bathroom, which caused a strong urine smell. Because of this, we had to change rooms late in the evening while our baby was sleeping, which was quite stressful. Thankfully, we were upgraded for the last two nights of our stay.
There were also a lot of mosquitoes around the property. The breakfast buffet had a large selection, but the quality did not live up to expectations.
Before staying here we had been at Hyatt Koh Samui, so the contrast between the two hotels felt quite significant.
The staff were generally friendly, although some seemed uninterested or not very attentive.
The location is good if you want to stay close to where things are happening, but overall this is not a hotel we would book again or recommend."
