«We stayed here for just one night, and it was a lovely experience.
The location is perfect — only a short, easy walk from Kawaguchiko Station.
Check-in was smooth and simple, and the host was very thoughtful.
There are also many cultural touches and experiences you can enjoy inside the house, which made the stay feel special.
The only minor downside is that since the room has tatami flooring,
it can feel a bit humid, and there’s a faint damp smell when you first enter from outside.

«I stayed at 5 different accommodations during my visit to Japan, and Ryokan Plum was by far my favourite - it was a shame that I could only stay for one night! I stayed in the traditional tatami room, which exceeded all of my expectations. It was beautiful! The host (I forget her name) who greeted me upon my arrival was very kind and welcoming. I would highly recommend Ryokan Plum to anyone visiting the Hakone/Odawara area. »

«Family of four (with 8yo twins) stayed here in November 2025. It's a beautiful inn, comfortable and clean and quiet, with friendly staff and good food for breakfast and dinner. The bath is lovely -- staff help you book a time in the evening at check in, and it's available on a first come first served basis in the morning. Free shuttles up to Gora in the morning are also a bonus (although you'll have to get yourself to Asante in the afternoon/evening as they don't offer shuttles then). Overall a ...

Anbefales! »

«This is a nice and simple hostel near Gora station, giving easy access by train to an excellent starting point for exploring the Hakone area by funicular and cable car, buses, and on foot. Excellent onset experience, and good food in the bar.»

«Rooms were clean and comfortable. The toilet and shower were also clean. Overall good value for the place especially visiting during an extremely busy time of year (New Years) in Hakone. The descriptions/reviews provided by other guest were pretty spot on. »

"If you’re ever in Kofu, this is the place to stay! Just a short 10 min walk from Kofu Station. Room was large and spacious, super clean. Seemed very new and modern with a nice touch of Japanese style living room. Beds were very comfortable. A/c worked great! Service was amazing, they helped us with our luggage and had it ready in our room when we checked in. Check-in was simple on an iPad (no receptionists). Can definitely reccomend! "
