Hoteller i Ko Yao Yai – Banyan Tree i Ko Yao Yai, Ko Yao

"This time was a HUGE let-down - and we really regret spending 5 nights here. The location itself - it sits on a large hill/peninsula. This means that no matter where you are going - you will most likely have to use one of the cars they have to shuffle you around. And they have 226 rooms - so you can imagine that there are a large amount of people to move, especially during the busy hours. The issue here is that they dont have enough cars to shuffle people around - so every time we wanted to go somewhere, you first have to walk to one of the pick up locations . Then you had to wait - in average about 5-10 minutes before being picked up. On average - going to breakfast - to the beach, to the gym, lunch, and dinner, we had to do this 6-8 times a day waiting on average 45-60 minutes per day for a pick up! That is just not what I imagined myself doing during my holiday. Increase the number of cars! The staff : Something is not right and they do not seem to be content with their job. There are plenty of staff - but for some reason they are required to take photos of everything they are doing - so they spend more time making sure they have documented their job than to pay attention to customers. The food is utterly tasteless at all the restaurants -we tried them all. The breakfast is great! Gym closes at 19pm - for no reason we can understand. Pools are great. The beach is wonderful. We love Santhiya brand, but we are not coming back, every, again to thiso one. "

"This stay was amazing. The resort was stunning, very friendly staff, the restaurants had amazing food. We are already longing to go back. If you are going to stay on PhiPhi, please consider staying at SAii. "

"Very nice pool area, but very crowded and sunbeds being reserved with towels, but not used all the time. Cleaning in the room was awful. I discovered that behind the coffee machine (work desk area) it hadn't been cleaned for quite some time. My discovery was a nest of fleas and that these insects were all over my room and luggage. These bugs are active at nights, so not easy to discover them in day time. When looking closely, I saw there were hundreds of small black dots (less than 1mm size) moving around and jumping all over. This was late in the evening/night, so this was a very nasty surprise. I contacted the front desk and asked them to come and check, in addition to suggesting them to clean properly and perform a gassing of the room. They seemed reluctant at first, but after cleaning supervisor inspected the room, she also confirmed there were fleas and that the cleaning was far below standard. I can deal with "not so good" cleaning, but when I discover that I live in a flea nest and these bugs are also all over my luggage, I find it unacceptable. No excuses from the hotel. I left the hotel next morning. Very disappointing!"
